I love most chicken salads, the more old-fashioned, the better. Danny Kaye had a marvelous chicken salad recipe that's simple and wonderful. The lone exception I can think of is chicken salad with curry powder in it. That is a trend that I wish would pass.

Here's the Danny Kaye salad recipe:

https://bradencookbook.com/chicken_salad_a_la_danny_kaye___.htm

To make it easier, use leftover rotisserie chicken.

On a whim, I went to the website of my local Walgreens this morning, and found I was able to book an appointment this afternoon for both of us to get our flu and COVID vaccines. Huzzah! They even gave a choice of Pfizer or Moderna.

I chose Pfizer, since historically we've had a less severe reaction to it.

I had a copy of Prince of Darkness that I never did watch! Though maybe I saw it on cable prior. But yeah, I like Carpenter. He has an intriguing body of work with a strong point of view. There’s usually what William Goldman would call “moments” in his films that stand outside the norm, technically, humorously, or by having unexpected heart. It’s not all great, but it’s all at least interesting. And some are great. Like Big Trouble in Little China.

I should watch that one. I wish I'd gone to see it in theeders, but I've only ever seen it on home video.

I like chicken salad and fried chicken and chicken nuggets sometimes.

And I especially like chicken and noodles.

Just came back from cleaning up debris from the neighboring property that was washed onto the church parking lot. It must have been quite a river yesterday; some heavy things got washed quite a ways. Mostly from their scrap wood pile.

Our PCP's office is part of a huge hospital system group. They are closed on weekends, but there's someone on call in case of an emergency. Which we have found is not usually very helpful.

I enjoyed the first two episodes of Lynley.  I'm not sure Keith did or that we will be watching it again.

I'll let them know about the photo thing - once they get everything rebooted, fixed, and on another server, all of these issues will disappear.

That will be appreciated, especially if it is secure.

OK then, I'm probably wrong in thinking we had Saturday morning hours before. I'm also no doubt conflating it with the vet's office which is open in the morning but the doctor isn't there. I'm glad to hear I'm not exactly deprived here (for then I would be depraved, as we all know).

Question for the class:

Are your primary doctors' offices open on Saturdays, at least for limited services? I don't know if I'm remembering wrong, but I just found out mine is completely closed weekends. All I wanted was to ask them to send through a prescription refill for one that he hadn't made automatic yet, but I can't even do that till Monday. Fortunately, I have enough.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but it just seems like I've been able to call them on Saturday mornings. They're part of a large regional network that includes the major local hospitals, etc. I'll have to ask when I'm talking to them.

Wow, some doctors even take Fridays off now.

It is my pharmacy that gives me the option to make prescriptions automatic. Of course that is only for standard prescriptions that are always renewed at the same amount.

Same here though I haven't booked ours yet.  Covid doesn't seem high here yet so we might wait until after my doctor's appointment on the 1st.

You are always there doing extra work for your church.

When I went to Urgent Care we chose one that was part of the hospital system my primary is with.  That was a good choice.

The place I go to now does have Saturday hours, but my primary care provider (he's a physician assistant) doesn't work weekends.
