Tomorrow, Shelly and I are going to the Washington Center to see Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush, with live organ music accompaniment by Dennis James on their 1924 Wurlitzer organ!

I usually volunteer for this event, but I didn't sign up in time, but I got a voucher for volunteering for 40+ hours which gives two free tickets for one event (from a limited list)!

Experience silent films the way they were meant to be seen and heard, accompanied by Dennis James on our 1924 Wurlitzer organ! The Gold Rush is one of Charlie Chaplin’s most celebrated films. In the film, a prospector goes to the Klondike during the 1890s gold rush in hopes of making his fortune, and is smitten with a girl he sees in a dance hall.

Dennis James, the organist, always talks about the movies and the music that he plays. He also talks about historical perspective, and a couple of times, he even had live singers performing songs related to the movies!
