I did something very radical. I ordered a chili cheese and onion hot dog and onion rings from the legendary hot dog jernt Pink's. If you actually go there, you'd be standing in line for an hour. For some reason, DoorDash now delivers from there. It's quite far away, but the hot dog was still hot when it arrived, which was amazing. Now, I have lived here all my life, and I'm not sure I've ever had a Pink's hot dog before. Maybe once at some point in my teens, but no real memory. The dog was great and so were the onion rings and just the right amount - five.

Considering all the misses you have with deliveries this is a pleasant surprise for you.

You also missed my question above your post :)

Sorry to hear about DR DRUXY.....he certainly had a way about him.

I bought a couple of his books - but he certainly was partial to self promotion.

The HHW statistics are really fascinating.  I could go down a rabbit hole just looking things like dates up there!

The extra copies I ordered to give away of "Winery Getaways" just arrived at our door - on a Sunday - and on John G's birthday!

That's got to be a sign of good luck!

I met Druxy once, back in 2012 when BK and I were at the Burbank Marriott for a Home Theater Forum event and a Monsterpalooza-kind of thing was also going on there. I think Druxy had a booth for his books. It was just a brief hello type of thing and he was certainly nice enough, but I remember the postings very well indeed.

Thanks to that evening, BK was also able to introduce me to Bert I. Gordon. That was nice. He died in 2023, but seemed frail, even then.

Ack. Memories!

George good luck finding all the supplies you need for the handyman next week.

Thanks.  I did get most of it ordered, but we're going to see if we can rent an adjustable ladder.

Good luck!

Thanks!  Either they'll have it, or the won't.

Sorry about former DR Druxy.

His self-promotion was annoying, but his rabid right-wingery was disturbing.

Speaking of disturbing, horrid news out of Michigan, of which I was unaware until DR Ginny posted.

Druxy joined HHW December 2007, and his last post was May 2022.  So he was here over 14 years.

Yesterday was my own 11th anniversary (my wife’s too, coincidentally). And we spent the night in Vancouver and had a nice dinner (with the youngsters).

“Airplane” was on the tv last night, maybe the first time I saw it uncensored, so I didn’t ever know about some of the raunch, but the kids enjoyed it.
