WALMART has announced it will be closed on Thanksgiving this year, so that all the self-checkout people can be with their families.

Podcast thing seemingly went very well. The guy who does it went on and on and on and on about how it works, the kinds of answers that won't bore people - twenty minutes of that. He asked at the beginning if I'd ever done radio interviews and I told him, yes, tons. I didn't need to hear any of what he said - I know how it works and what they're looking for. The interview itself lasted fifteen minutes, I hit all the pertinent points, I was occasionally amusing, and when we were done he said it went very well. I guess some authors, especially newer ones, really are not interesting, long-winded, and bore people. They don't air interviews like that, even if they do them.

He'll let me know when it's up - probably in a week. According to him, this podcast is VERY popular - hell, maybe I'll even sell a book or three.

As soon as I finished that, I went to the mail place and picked up two important envelopes, did banking, and got to the Capitol Grill right on time, meeting Doug and his daughter Haverty, who's in town to see dad's show and have some meetings. I had three appetizers.

Friends and I saw "Damn Yankees" at Arena Stage (DC) this afternoon.  They had a matinee at noon, which is a great time as far as I'm concerned.  We all enjoyed it very much. It's been updated somewhat--the home team is the Baltimore Orioles, instead of the Washington Senators.   Applegate was played by Broadway fave Rob McClure, who was terrific as was the rest of the cast.

I like the team update :)  Glad you enjoyed the show.

Things I learned for next time: No Caesar (it was good but...), no shrimp cocktail (HUGE shrimp and way too filling), and a CUP of clam chowder will suffice and it's great chowder, but very rich. All that is under 800 calories, so that part's good, but I still feel like I'm going to explode. Next time, it'll be a cup of chowder and an entree.

Then I did one last bit of banking, came home, and had a Zoom with my set guy - starting to look very good.
