We discussed going to our local protest, however, we are staying home.  I feel guilty about that.  With my big test on Monday we don't feel comfortable going.

My friend Shelly doesn't feel up to standing for up to five hours, so she isn't here, either.

Today is going to be a day.  I'm going to the No Kings Protest in Olympia, then I might go to a TAO Board meeting (depending on the ending time of the protest), then tonight's J&H performance.

To one and all participatng in today's "No Kings" protest, please be careful. The Rethuglicans are lying their fat heads off to incite violence or reaction from their idiot followers.

Thanks, Larry.  Olympia is a pretty sedate and small town, so I don't expect any trouble.

I wonder if the Proud Boys will bother with our local protest, afterall they are based here.  I think their plan was to go to Portland.

I didn't realize how long people will be standing.  I have a friend in NY with MS who needs leg braces to walk and hike.  She really is amazing, and she is at the protest.

I can offer my reasons why I hated it: In attempting to show the dangers of capitalism, he manages to make it far too appealing to many people. He managed to do the exact opposite of what he wanted. And the characters are all deplorable. The meme of DiCaprio peeling off endless dollars for extra guacamole sorta sums it up.

Mr. Scorsese gets mixed reviews. I, too, like a couple of them that BK doesn't, or doesn't want to watch. Just last year I came to really like Goodfellas, for instance. And I've loved After Hours from the get go. But there are a bunch I've never seen, some because I just haven't gotten around to it, some wholly intentional.

I just looked up a complete list of Scorsese movies. I haven’t seen many of his documentaries. I phased out Shutter Island, which I found laughable, and Kundun, which had nice images but was otherwise forgettable.

I haven’t seen Bringing Out the Dead. Do I want to?
