And the word of the day is: WHEEDLE!

The only first reference to this word I'd ever come across was:

There were these two, you see
Wanted her like mad
One of 'em a Judge
T'other one his Beadle!
Every day they'd nudge
And they'd wheedle!
But she wouldn't budge
From her needle
Too bad
Pure thing

DR George, you need to get out more! Lorenz Hart used the word in the duet "I Beg Your Pardon" from the 1925 Dearest Enemy:
I'm sure I beg your pardon;
I must withdraw my hand;
I don't plan to be wheedled
So don't misunderstand.

Well, Feckham Hall is ready for release, and it looks positively silly, ridiculous, bawdy, rude, and something I'd love!

TOD:  I guess my favorite sauces these days are  bolognese and vodka sauces.

For potatoes, it's whatever sauce is used for au gratin potatoes.  I've never had au gratin potatoes that I didn't enjoy.

What a horrible Double Damn Day for BK. Insurance, corporations, people not doing their jobs. Horrible, all of it.

The more I think about it, the more I like Blue Moon. And I am thinking about it, which is a rarity for a movie these days.

TOD:

Here‘s an opposite answer. In the last year, I have fallen out of love with pesto. And I don’t like most versions of cream gravy for chicken-fried steak, because most taste of flour, sometimes uncooked flour.

I’m sure I will remember more. But the memory goes when you get sauced, it seems.

I love this story!

Stephen Colbert quietly stepped into a small rescue shelter in New Jersey — with only 48 hours remaining before it would close, and all the dogs inside would be taken away. The bills were unpaid. The owner had given up hope.
But then, the 61-year-old singer — a legend known for his steadfast integrity and strong principles — walked straight to the back, where an 11-year-old Labrador mix named Buddy lay frail and forgotten. He knelt beside him, gently stroking him and whispering words of comfort.
Then, standing up and looking around, he asked, “How many dogs are here?”
A voice replied, “Thirty-nine.”

Colbert’s voice rang out, calm yet resolute: “All 39 of you deserve a tomorrow.”
The very next day, delivery trucks began arriving one after another — bringing new beds, fresh flooring, medical supplies, food, and toys. Above every kennel, a new sign appeared: “Forever Home — with love from Colbert.”

And Buddy? Colbert adopted him on the spot. He smiled and said, “He’s been waiting too long. Now it’s my turn to be here for him.”
Colbert didn’t just save a shelter. He saved 39 beating hearts, giving them hope, dignity, and a future.

From DR George:

Nor have I seen Scrooged with Bill Murray.  Several J&H castmates have castigated me for not having seen Scrooged.

I definately think you should watch it this year.
