DR George I hope you are feeling better today.

Thanks, Jane.  I've noticed over the last couple of days that I can feel a bit worse in the morning, but feel better as the day goes on.  Weird, huh? :-\

Lunch was great.

Cousins were all spoken about and accounted for.  I am sure there are several burning ears in the area.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  We are home now after a great visit with our son’s family in Illinois.  Saturday was just a “hang out and watch football” day and I’d intended for us to be back in our hotel room for the Michigan kickoff at 6pm.  But it would have been awkward to leave just as Mary Linda’s homemade pizzas came out of the oven, so we ate while watching and intended to leave at halftime.  But by then Grandad (Richard) and the girls were deeply involved in coloring, so we stayed for the whole game.

Sunday was the marquee event of the weekend - grandson George’s baptism.  After the church service we all gathered at Rob and Mary Linda’s for a lovely champagne brunch.  My contribution to that meal was homemade cinnamon pecan coffee cake that Charlotte and Hannah liked - a lot.

All of the guests, including us, left so that the household could regain some normalcy for the new week.  We didn’t see them again before our smooth drive home yesterday.

I'm up, I'm up - six and a half hours of sleep - up twice with an upset tummy.

Got that tracks on the laptop but have no idea where I put the external speakers - maybe in the garage.

DR GINNY that sounds like so much fun.

Cinnamon pecan cake AND champagne. That's a celebration!

I'm glad your coffee cake was a big hit with the girls.  Did you bake it at home or while at their house?

Prednisone can cause stomach and reflux issues.  If your pepcid isn't enough you might want to consider going on something like pantoprazole you can take every day to prevent, or reduce, issues.

With the hearing aids out I can press my ears closed every time the alarm goes off, and it keeps going off.

They checked that all of the alarms are working inside our unit and said they are almost done with the building.

Our votes are in.

But the phone calls from the "telemarketers" trying to sway our votes are still coming in.

DR Jane, I baked the coffee cakes (one with nuts, one without) at home and froze them.  What I made when we got there was what Rob used to call “Gram Cheese,” because his Gram (my mother) made it when he was little.  It’s a combination of cream cheese and any spreadable sharp cheddar, formed into a ball and rolled in chopped pecans (or not).  The girls liked it, too.
