Back from a somewhat frustrating rehearsal - before we took the week off the one thing I asked of the cast was to review things every day for an hour so when we came back we'd be in good shape - not one of them did so and so people didn't remember blocking, had written it down wrong, because I don't have a proper assistant writing stuff down, just one of the cast members who gets about half of it down, I was constantly having to remember what we did and get it back to where it was.

And once again, no assistant tonight. So, not only am I trying to assemble the show, block the scene shifts, fix blocking, and be on my feet, I'm having to sit and be the guy who plays the tracks - it's too much, I've been asking for this ONE thing for three MONTHS and I'm sick of it. Doug is in Florida, I was promised someone would be there tonight, and he's received a rather strong note from me just now and I told him to be VERY careful about how he responds because I'm at the point where I'll just cancel all rehearsals until they figure it out OR I'll just hire someone and they can pay that person. This company has over 125 members. It is the most entitled company I've ever seen - they don't want to do this, can't do that, won't, won't, won't. They are not supportive of each other, some don't even come see the shows. But they let them stay because they need their dues. I'm just sick of it and I cannot do my job properly when I have to get everything set up myself, get it put away myself, operate it myself AND be the focused director or the show.

Not to mention actually working with the actors to get the performances where they need to be.

That’s crazy that you can’t shut your own water off. What if there’s an emergency leak or something?

The house can have a shut-off valve inside, like the video that Jrand posted (thanks, Jrand!), but I haven't found one inside that house yet.  We might need to have one installed so that it'd be easier all around.

Well, my dermatology appointment went pretty well.  They gave me samples of a new medication to try.  There may be some gastrointestinal side effects ::) but we'll see.

If I eat something when I take medications, it's helped to avoid gastrointestinal side effects when they're mentioned; maybe it's something to ask a pharmacist about.
Plus, it's pretty much always nice to eat something. :)

I was told that this medication could soften my stool, and that when some people (a Gypsy reference ;) ) first start to take it, they can "get a little gassy." :-\

Decking the halls is going much faster and more smoothly than last year.  Then, the decorations were all packed according to where they’d been used in our old house.  Now, it’s all packed to coordinate with this house and I took pictures in January when I put it all away.  Today I’ve accomplished what took me at least a week to get done last year.

That's great, Ginny!

But you are keeping us in great suspense...
Did you find out where the water shutoff is located?

Yes!  The city's water guy showed up and turned it off.  He also said that the shut-off valve that we found the other night WAS for the neighbor. ::)

Did you let the neighbor know?

It wasn't off for very long.  When I saw that the water wasn't slowing down in mom's rental house, I turned the valve back to where it originally was, so they probably never knew that anything happened.  The city water guy said that it was set back to where it was supposed to be.  Whew!

BUT, he also said that it's illegal for anyone other than city employees to shut off the water, so, we'll always have to call to have that done. :o

What!  The house is flooding and you need to call the city to turn off the water-ummm I hope not.  Did you see where it is so you can do it in the future if needed?

I did, but as I just posted, we probably should have a shut-off valve installed in the house to avoid the issue.

Good luck that is works well without the side effects.

Thanks, Jane!

In general, I've been fairly fortunate to not really have any adverse side effects from most medications.  If I have, I think they've not lasted very long.  I know I've never had to stop any medication because of side effects.

That’s crazy that you can’t shut your own water off. What if there’s an emergency leak or something?

Or that there aren't individual shut off valves inside for different areas in the house.

There might be.  I just don't know.

My mom bought it from the original owner who had it built in the 1980s, so it might be a bit wonky by today's standards.

Or, and we also got the credit rating issue corrected as it was not our fault.

I'm writing Spider Ma'am.

It's about a middle-aged woman who gets bitten by a radioactive spider, but keeps it to herself, because, really, who needs it?

Black Friday.

Cyber Monday.

Giving Tuesday.

I don't think my email inbox can take any more.

I don't want to even begin to think about what "Ass Wednesday" might be.
