I like fatty brisket at a barbecue joint. But not all fat. I don't like too much fat on ham. Pastrami should be lean, but I'm not policing the meat I'm given. Just leave out the gristle, please.

It was a horrid decision since the shots of a crew member in the flies raising a cluster of clouds or shots backstage of actors leaving the stage constantly vremoved the viewer from the opera and its magic, which was thrilling in Mark Lamos' production.

Which was the first production of JOSEPH that you saw?

My first was a production in 1976 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music which starred Cleavon Little - who was already pretty famous then - as the Narrator. (I don't know when the Narrator being female became the norm.)

Maybe with the Broadway production and the fabulous Laurie Beechman? Just a guess.

Episode 1 of the new season of "All Creatures Great and Small" was fabulous. A really emotional episode, in all good ways.

The first production I saw was at the Edyvean Theatre in Indianapolis on the campus of the Christian Theological Seminary - it was a repertory company that did not just do religious shows but also included secular plays and musicals.

And I don't remember a finale....it was probably in 1987 or 1988.

I have finished PILLION.

It is a very unusual movie about a guy who finds himself in an S/M gay relationship.

The actors are good and the story is like nothing I have ever seen. And one actor in a small role seemed familiar to me....but it wasn't until I read his name in the credits that I realized who it was.....Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters.

Is anyone watching Bookish on PBS? I really like it. Mark Gatis, who wrote Sherlock and played Mycroft, wrote Bookish and plays the lead. I love the 1940s London streetscape and some unconventional lifestyles.

As for Other Things, the painter is about halfway through. We have an interesting relationship: I carefully explain what I want, then he does whatever he wants. I’ve been trying to somehow get through it and just get the work done. I’ve already cut back on the projects I was planning to give him, but I’m not at all sure I won’t have to switch painters. He knows a lot, but he wants things done his way, despite my initial and up-front specifications. Sigh.
