Anthony Rapp is playing Benjamin Stone. That makes me feel really old.

What production?

Anthony Rapp is 54 years old.  The FOLLIES script says Phyllis is 48, IIRC.  So a 54 year old playing Ben sounds logical.

I understand that he's now old enough, but I meant where is the show happening?  Is it a regional production?

Oops, sorry, George.  I placed that wrong!  I really AM old!

In a little while, Shelly and I are going to Seattle to see the pianist Leif Ove Andsnes in concert with my friend David, who got free tickets!

https://meanycenter.org/tickets/2026-01/production/leif-ove-andsnes

With his commanding technique and searching interpretations, the celebrated Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes has won worldwide acclaim, performing in the world’s leading concert halls and with its foremost orchestras while building an esteemed and extensive discography. He brings his “magisterial elegance, power and insight” (The New York Times) to an eclectic program featuring works by Robert Schumann, Leoš Janáček and György Kurtág.

I have a few of his recordings. I expect a full report.

When I went to the basement this morning, I ran into cat owner, Andie Muncy, wife of Chris Muncy. It was nice to see her; I see Chris, a former Marine and excellent photographer, more often since he works out of home. She's working for a publisher. She told me he was in Minneapolis, photographing ICE activity for Bloomberg.

We got hacked again. They were going to do the switch on Monday and take the board down for two hours, but I think we're doing that right now to stop all this crap. So, if it's down, come back around six or seven.

It’s happening in Chicago. It’s a concert staging, not a full production.

When did get to be so old? He’s still in Rent. Time is mocking us.

In the TOD on hot dogs the other day, no one mentioned the nature of the hot dog that made her lose control. :)

Ah.  Thanks for the info.  I was thinking more that he might not have the right vocal range for Ben, but if he's been cast, it's not an issue for the production.

Notes part of the site got hacked again, but it's back up now - none of this will stop happening until Monday when they finally get us moved. These ASS-holes are relentless and it's nauseating. So, you'll have to clear your cache again.

He'll keep his eye on it over the weekend, but it's too late for anything to happen today - I think they were trying to do it today and I gave them the go-ahead at three, but he's juggling a bunch of stuff (guessing we're not the only one with issues) and didn't see my responses till just now, and I'm sure they go home at six.

Birthday lunch was grand - The Capitol Grill again. Both Barry and Cindy thought it was fantastic. We all had the filet with different sides, I had my lump crab cocktail, Cindy had a shrimp cocktail, and Barry had calamari. They gave Cindy a free dessert, too. We had my favorite server, Zoey, and they agreed she was the best of the best and beyond the Barry and I left, Cindy added another twenty bucks.

I dealt with some e-mails, and then wrote two more new pages and ended a chapter and began a new one on a new page. About six pages so far, and I'll do more when I'm home from the theater.
