But it IS funny!   8)

Thanks for the link DRJENNIFER.  I would guess the two blonde college grads will be crying before the end of Episode One, and the two waiters from Florida will be arguing....   ::)

Something tells me the two waiters will more then likely be bitch-slapping each other.

Did all the stuff we needed to do, Linda-wise, then went and got some lunch and picked up one of the errant and truant packages, and a nice surprise from dear reader Ben.

I am once again very bored at work. To aleviate that boredom I have been doing research on the internet...and located addresses and/or phone numbers for several 1950s starlets....and I do mean starlets!

I wonder how many of them will want to be interviewed.

Most of her clothes in SHOW BUSINESS are ridiculous - not her fault, of course - but her "acting" just grates on me....  :P

Wow!  Mitzi's right up there with Bernadette...eh???!!!

Yes, I think Joshua Logan was a dull, unimaginative film director...

Further proof of his brutalization of film muscials can be found in "Paint Your Wagon" (with Eastwood sounding like an Idol reject) and "Camelot" (with Vanessa Redgrave sporting the filthiest finger nails in the kingdom) - If I didn't know better, I'd put the blame for "Mame" on his shoulders.

Given that I was a very good boy at lunch, I might just have to have something yummiliciously sweet for my evening repast - perhaps a cake.

Now I shall play Pompous Ass to an Insufferable Bore:

bk, in his notes, stated:

Quote
Just what IS that weirdly placed “r” doing in February? It just sits there like so much fish, doesn’t it? I mean, you don’t pronounce it, you don’t acknowledge it,

Well, kind sir, maybe you Valley Kids don't pronounce the "R', but some of us linguistic elites do!

Webster (Noah not Daniel) states:

Quote
Dissimilation may occur when a word contains two identical or closely related sounds, resulting in the change or loss of one of them. This happens regularly in February, which is more often pronounced \'fe-b(y)&-"wer-e\ than \'fe-br&-"wer-e\, though all of these variants are in frequent use and widely accepted. The \y\ heard from many speakers is not an intrusion but rather a common pronunciation of the vowel u after a consonant, as in January and annual.

So there!!!!!

Right now, I'm listening to the original Broadway cast recording of The Color Purple that I got from J&R for only $5.99!  Now, it costs $14.99!  I've just finished the first act and so far, it's really good.  The musical styles are quite varied and it all seems to work.  I downloaded the complete lyrics from angelrecords.com and printed them (back to back).  It's a 20-page full-page format, not in a CD booklet format, so it doesn't fit with the CD, but it's nice to have it. :)

Some of those people in the second quote are probably the ones who say "nook-ee-yer" instead of "nuclear", too.

I'm surprised she wasn't locked up for terminal stupidity.

I agree with you Elmoore... That woman is amazingly stupid, IMHO....

Yes, around here it is not unusualy for kids to go deer hunting at 13 but the guns are still locked up....

I am always sniffing around for good deals, interesting finds and curiousities.....

One of the more interesting things I got off of ebay was a script from 1985 for Another World.... not autographed and had notes of actions and stuff that had to be done. I also have an autographed days one from 2001.   I have a number of publicity photos from a number of soaps that are no longer on the air. Primarily they are from Another World and Search for Tomorrow....

One of the more disturbing things I have seen on ebay is grave markers of war veterans.... One of the funniest things was a guy in his ex-wife's wedding dress and he was modeling it... That was a hoot.

I got the Ciernini Claddag release of The Chieftains first album in 1963 and it is in very good condition. I also have several rare cds of the  work they have done that are hard to find including The Grey Fox and Barry Lyndon.... I am still looking for two Matt Molloy CDs, One Derek Bell album and one Sean Keane album and a Kevin Conneff....  I have many of the works that this group has done together and individually...

At a flea market I found a shirt that was used by an extra in the movie The Outsiders....

Rummage / Yard Sales and Flea Markets

I found an original 1962 Breyer gloss horse model in near mint condition still in the box at a rummage sale...

Dakota Territory Commemorative coin in a box of craft stuff I got...

From the potato field:
Native American hammerhead.... Possibly DAkota or Anishnabe (Chippewa). I use it as a door stop....  I also have innumerable arrowheads. My father was not a happy camper about the hammerhead for it broke the harvester!

Several books from my grandparents and great grandparents... I cherish on that my great grandfather got as a gift and it is collection of Campfire stories and anecdotes and it is written by a member of the GAR.... Fascinating stories and songs....

I also have a geography book from 1865.....

This is getting to page seven in record time?  We are moving at a snail's pace, I tell you.

I'm going out to get something yummiliciously sweet and decadent.
