1 can sweet peas (another short cut I take - purists feel free to shell your own)

If you use frozen peas, they'll maintain some texture.

We're having high winds advisory here(winds of  54 + MPH ).  I have the news on in the background.  A lady driving down a  highway in New Jersey was killed this moning when winds toppled a tree on to the car she was driving crushing the car and killing her instantly

and here on Long Island a tree fell on a family's car in their driveway crushing the entire car.  Fortunately no one was in that car at the time.

It occurs to me, we could have a Jack Benny/Fred Allen thing going on here.

I've noticed here in LA that cupcakes are the new hip thing.  A year ago a cupcake specialty jernt opened in North Hollywood and now I see them (not the same store) everywhere.

The only peas the two fussbuckets in this house will eat are Le Seuer (the ones in the silver paper)

The caption: Pinot Noir Chocolate Cupcake with Sea Salt Caramel Glaze from FreeFoods NYC.

The comments: The cake part was dry and dense.  The chocolate ganache icing was a little grainy. And the sea salt caramel glaze seemed to be missing the sea salt.  However, it was "all organic". :-\

I occassionally watch a show on WE channel called Amazing Wedding Cakes - they had one last week that was really a hundred or more cupcakes - each one decorated as an minature wedding cake.  I thnink the cake shop that made it is based in LA

...and the side effects are ridiculous - can lead to liver disfunction, known to cause sudden heart attacks, etc etc why are these things even FDA approved?!

Because the potential good outweighs the potential harm - almost any effective pharmaceutical will have some chance of adverse side effects.

I believe SPRINKLES CUPCAKES is/are responsible for the bring the cupcake craze to the Los Angeles area.  It's a good cupcake, but I'm still partial to Magnolia, Billy's, Buttercup, Sugar Sweet Sunshine, etc. ;)

*Sprinkles also markets their own make-at-home cupcake mix which is available at Williams-Sonoma and other outlets.  Any time I've sampled them in-store, well... not so much.

Bruce,

I know you don't think all that much of me these days, but do you honestly think I'm that stupid as to ask you to link my url after what I told you what I wrote about you?  Obviously your endorsement didn't matter to me that much, or I wouldn't have told you or written it.  Check the e-mail.  I could print it in it's entirety.  There was no "asking".  No mention of linking. You admit that yourself.  I know you think your website is that important.  That's one of the Decathlon events.  If "Dripping with attitude" was the criteria, you'd have to take out almost all the posts you've ever written about me.

From personal experience. Yesterday.  :-\

*And, then, to add insult to injury, I had hoped to have a cup of Hot Chocolate from 'wichcraft in Bryant Park, but they weren't selling hot chocolate yesterday?!?!?!??!

However, I could tell that the cupcake had potential. I could taste the pinot noir, and it complemented the chocolate. A good balance of flavors.  It was the texture that turned me off. Maybe it would have been better had I come earlier in the day when the cupcake was fresher - and hadn't been sitting out on a display tray for a couple of hours.

TOD:

I don't really have any recipes of my own, but I will tell of the time I first made my somewhat popular Christmas Garlic Dip.

The recipe I decided to make it from called for two packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and four cloves of garlic.  So when I went food shopping, I bought two packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and four cloves of garlic.  And when I prepared it, I peeled and mashed all four cloves of garlic and added it all to the cream cheese.

I thought that the dip turned out to be a trifle strong and judging by the bug-eye and teary reactions of my guests who tasted it, they thought so too.  It wasn't until later, when someone explained to me the difference between a clove and a bulb, did I realize where I went wrong.

I now make one batch of the dip with just four cloves of garlic but I also make another using one whole bulb--some people actually like it that way.

It didn't take long to figure where this was going  ;D ;D

First,  I never asked Bruce to link his website to my blog, merely to check it out for himself.

I wouldn't, in a million years, have expected him to give me a link.  That would require a magnanimity that I never thought he was capable of.
...
If this post doesn't survive very long, so be it.

A. Considering that this site is filled with folks hawking their own endeavors, I would be amazed to see bk pull a post that linked to something he didn't like.

B. If bk pulled all the posts that took issue with him, his ideas or his opinions, my post count would be in single digits.

C. Your use of PM/Email rather than an upfront post with a "join me on my blog" link does suggest, perhaps unfairly, a certain guilt.
