DR TCB - The only way to send and receive a fax is via a phone line.* So, as long as you still have a land-line and a standard modular phone cord, you're all set.

*Some companies I deal with now email me PDFs of forms and contracts. I then scan them, print out a copy for myself, fill out the form, then scan the filled-out form, then email them back the file (PDF). It's a bit "greener" that way, I guess.

I'm not a Grey's regular, but I watched tonight's episode and liked it. Then I watched PRIVATE PRACTICE and the story line about the dying mother and her 2 sons and their bad relationship hit a little too close to home - well, at least too close to the situation in my extended family...

In other news...

Today was an interesting today.

It turned out that Gabrielle Hamilton was back in town today doing a "Meet the Author" at the St. Agnes branch of the New York Public Library - which happens to be around the corner from DR elmore's fire escape. No food and drink this time - like in Chicago, just a reading from "Blood, Bones and Butter" and a Q&A session, but it was a very entertaining hour.

Gabrielle actually remembered me from the dinner in Chicago, and she even asked to run my hair/head again. The representative from the publisher also asked me about the dinner since she had set it all up, but was not able to attend. -And I was finally able to get Gabrielle Hamilton to sign my copy of her memoir.

Otherwise...

The first part of my day was neither good, nor bad. Just kind of weird and frustrating. Alas, some of the "weirdness" will continue tomorrow. I just hope that by the close of business tomorrow, I will finally have a place to stay for the next two months here in New York City. Otherwise... Well... There are some contingency plans in place, and I'll deal with those when and if I have to.

Finishing off the night by listening to "Prettybelle." This is truly one of the strangest scores ever written, and probably Bob Merrill's best set of lyrics. My jaw drops almost every time I listen to it. Racists, nymphomaniacal alcoholic schizophrenics, the No-Tell Motel and first mention of sushi in a musical I can remember.
