Cilla, in response to your question from yesterday, no, I haven't seen the movie "Nuts." Don't know why, either. Should I look for it?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093660/  It's the Barbra Streisand - Richard Dreyfus movie where she tries to prove she isn't mentally incompetent while her family wants her declared incompetent.   Don't know that you need to see it, but your post about being on a panel to determine competency brought it to mind

Good afternoon.  I've really had Save the Park on my mind lately. It started with the mention of an oral history project through our local museum.  After STP I interviewed everyone and anyone and recorded it all.  I have the tapes somewhere.  Anyway, today, the person coordinating and trying to resurrect our oral history project at the SC public museum had me stop over and explained the process etc that they do to interview.  I'm looking forward to it.  The really don't want any response from the interviewer to the information being provided..."be a rock" she said....I don't think I'm capeable of "being a rock" when I'm trying to get someone to tell me their story.  So...we'll see how it goes

Back from picking up a couple of packages and one bill.  I shall attempt a jog shortly.  Then I'm done until the car place calls (I have a loaner) - if they call after four, I'll keep the loaner until morning - if before four, I'll head on over there.  I'd much prefer the latter to the former.

I've been meaning to give the tapes of STP to the museum at the lakes, but I did the interviews for a potential movie that fell through.  I'm seriously considering using them to write a book about the whole thing.  I may be far enough away from it now to actually write it. At the time it was just too overwhelming.

It's a rainy day here.   I was supposed to be writing all day.  Instead I redesigned my business cards, took out advertising on the back of the bulletin in 5 catholic churches and went to a few meetings outside the office.  I didn't make it to the piano solos, but should be able to go tomorrow night to see them with the trios

Would love to have a cast recording of this. Coleman's music is so underrated to me. Always thought "On the Twentieth Century" had an overture to rival "Gypsy's" and a score to back it up. Any chance of your getting back in the new cast recording biz, BK?

If I may grouse for a moment, I am home with a fever and feeling frustrated and grumpy. I have a tiresome errand that I've been trying to get to, and it is now delayed again.

WHERE DO ALL THE ERRANDS COME FROM?? They really do seen endless.

Ugh! There now. End of rant.

There was something that I meant to post, but now I can't recall it. And I have no favorite Charlton Heston films.

Oh, yes. If anyone is interested in reading more about the origins of the recent financial crisis, there is a good article in today's financial news.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Why-Jamie-Dimon-Is-Wrong-dg-714907249.html;_ylt=AslGSN1RJGYSVaYMjymiwFu7YWsA;_ylu=X3oDMTE2ajUyZDNpBHBvcwMxMQRzZWMDdG9wU3RvcmllcwRzbGsDd2h5amFtaWVkaW1v?x=0&sec=topStories&pos=8&asset=&ccode=

Just one side of things, but a well-written article, I think.

Here is my cousin's truck in our garage - it left here about 9am and should be getting pretty close to home by now:

I'm ready, willing, and able - unfortunately, the producers now pay for these things, and they just hand them to either PS Classics or Ghostlight because that's who they're comfortable with.  Many moons ago I came up with that business model for the producers of Amour.  I did a budget that was, I don't know, 50k less than Ghostlight, but they simply gave my budget to Ghostlight because one of the Shubert people knew the owner and I still hadn't quite started Kritzerland yet.  By the time I did, it was too late - they basically just do it with those guys now.  I don't happen to think it results in many good-sounding recordings, but that's just me.

And we the listeners lose out. This sounds as good as "A Grand Night for Singing" or "Hey, Love." Oh well.

I found "The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T" at Big Lots today. Hope I can find an hour or two this weekend to watch it.

Have you approached any producers lately?  Now that Kritzerland has been up and running for a while, and good word has gotten out about the work that you've been doing, maybe some producer(s) will be open to having you record their show.

There's always hope. :)

I also spent a good deal of the day playing on Facebook. I've started a photo album of work I've done. I'm hoping that it brings in some work.

My ears were burning, and now I have charred ears.  Went back to Glendale, got the motor car and am home.  I swear to you, I was not five minutes out of the dealership when some stupid, sickening idiot just starts mildly swerving into my lane.  Now, the side of his car is bashed in - gee, I wonder why.  I look over at him and he's blithely looking everywhere but the road.  I look back in front of me and the idiot in a VW Bug has stopped - stopped - for no reason - stopped.  I had to slam on my brakes and I missed plowing into the back of his car by approximately one inch.  Perhaps he was in cahoots with the other idiot - maybe that's their con.  But alas, I fear they are simply idiots who should not be allowed behind the wheel of a car - giving them credit to be smart enough to devise such a con is, of course, ridiculous.  They're simply idiots and other drivers sometimes have to pay the price for their idiocy.  Thankful my brakes are excellent.  And you can't even yell at them because they are so totally not in the real world, but in some world of their own imagining, so they're not even aware of the havoc they almost cause.
