...really ugly, oily looking purple splotches ...

Speaking of which:

POPEATER

Quote
What would we do without Björk?

While nothing could ever top the Icelandic singer's epically fugly swan dress (Oscars 2001), this purple concoction comes really, really close. The musician thrilled fashion police around the globe this week when she strolled into a press conference for the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm, Sweden, looking like the gonzo star of a Cirque du Soleil ode to Barney.

This is far, far worse then the swan dress. ;D

Watching a really bad motion picture on Blu and Ray - the fact that this horridly-written drivel was a HIT is astonishing - not only a hit, but a sequel is coming.  Which shows, that bad writing, mediocre directing, and a bunch of well-known talent creates a hit bad movie.

Oh, you must be watching THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS.

Well, I'm going to return to church in Lima tomorrow for the first time since August 1.  I suspect it will be exhausting, but I'll get lots of hugs, too!  Better call it a night and go to bed soon - 'night!

Neighbors and friends were stopping by.  We have no idea why they love one particular tree in the back yard, but they have come here for years.  They were here in the morning and gone by late afternoon

I am off to bed.  I have to pace myself during this four day weekend.  Of course, Tuesday is my lay-off day, without pay.

MBarnum, in the mail from NetFlix today is "Yoo-Hoo, Mrs Goldberg".  Have you seen it?

I haven't seen it yet, but I have it in my queue.

Our telephone and internet service has been down for the past 3 hours. . .still had Comcast Cable television though.

I've spent time watching Jack Lemmon in HOW TO MURDER YOUR WIFE.

..the addition of  some new heart-healthy favorite foods...

Which I have found to be a challenge! I love a fully loaded baked potato -but low/non-fat butter substitues are not the same, and non-fat sour cream should be listed as an "abomination" whenever Leviticus is updated. What did work, howver, was finding a savory starch substitute - buckwheat zucchini pancakes work niely, and oatmeat with soy sauce and chives is great with venison or roasted beef.

Too tired to think, spent the day digging holes in the yard, haven't really used a shovel in 20 years.   Maybe more.  Now I'm tired, and will be sore tomorrow.   But I feel like I did something good.   8)

Sammy Williams came over and picked up some sheet music for Stages - he's thinking of doing a song from it in his club act.
That's good news. Which song?

I lost a friend and neighbor this past week, someone who lives in the building. He died in his sleep. Sadly, it was roughly a week before anyone discovered it. It wasn't until I learned the news that a dream I had recently made sense.

Jeanne, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and neighbor.  My condolences.

then we drove into the city of New York and took a stroll  through Times square   theTKTS booth had La Cage Aux Folles so we picked up tickets

I was somewhat dissapointed with the production - I saw the show in 1987 and it was one of my most favorite theatre going experiences - the Vixter however, was absolultey mezmerized

I see that no one is on right now. I just wanted to say "Hello."  Still 9 days until my hip replacement surgery (Monday, September 13). I'm counting the days and don't spend much time on the computer. "Cheers" to everyone.
