THROWING IN THE TOWEL
« on: October 26, 2005, 12:08:41 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes have become a part of the fabric of your daily life, which is, by the way, cotton, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're out buying a new towel, as well.

Good morning, all!  It's what the weathermen would call a chilly autumn morning, and I quite like it.  Today's a big day on the Chicago project: finishing and taping the orchestra parts and scores.  I've got a couple of numbers to prepare for the next round of restoration but I've got tomorrow to deal with that since the orchestra matewrials have to be in Chicago by Friday for Monday rehearsal.

First thing this morning, my barber Joe will attend to the few hairs left on my head.  I'm currently on my second round of coffee, listening to David Campbell's 2000 New Year's Eve concert from Perth. and moving very slowly.

TOD:
I Hear A Symphony and a ton of other Supremes songs
   My Guy
Up the Ladder to the Roof (isn't that Motown?)
Was Betty Everett's "Shoop Shoop Song" Motown?

Good Morning!

Wow!  Two days in a row where I'm actually up before 7:00!...

However...

I'm only up this early today since I'm in a bit of pain.  I happened to "sleep funny" last night (I guess), and I "slept funny" on my left knee.  I woke up briefly, shifted my legs, and, "Ouch!"  It feels a bit "locked up".  I've been trying to stretch and twist it out over the past couple of minutes, and I believe it's getting back to normal, but, man, does it smart!   I guess I have what it is called in layman's term a "charlie horse".  I dunno.

I'm not feeling debilitated, just more weird than anything else.  I guess I just happened to sleep on it in such a way, that... well... I guess I just happened to sleep on it in such a way.

Topic of the Day:

Basically anything by (Diana Ross and) The Supremes, and any of the other Motown girl groups.

"ABC" - Michael Jackson - Just such a catchy song!!!  In the good sense.

And since it was released on the Motown label... The OCR for Pippin.

No DR Elmore - Betty Everett did not record for Motown. (Vee-Jay). Great song though.

Lacuna Beach is that awful show on MTV...NOT DR TCB's show.

Or is it the coat that Norma bought for Joe?

Lacuna....as long as the lady's paying....

Thank you, DRTomovoz!  I worked with a cabaret act "Just God Friends" in 1980-81, and the boys performed the Shoop Shoop Song long before it became popular again.  I wonder if the act, which played all over Manhattan, brought the song back to attention?

DR Jose - Aren't you glad you don't have to shepherd a bunch of Hainsies and Kimlets across lower Manhattan this morning?  Was it only 3 weeks ago?

I, too, woke up feeling poorly - I think a cold is coming on.  Of course it's time to get sick - I have a nice 4-day weekend coming up!
