And speaking of my youngest brother, Jay...

He finished the ING New York City Marathon in about 4 hours and 20 minutes!

Needless to say, I am very proud of him.  And of all the runners who completed the race today.

I left my meeting around 2:00 and started walking up Central Park West to 86th street which is where my brother's finishing area was.  I was literally walking among thousands of runners - there were almost 40,000(!) runners this year - as well as throngs of family, friends and onlookers.  Just observing the various looks on people's faces was quite an emotional roadtrip...  -People were crying tears of joy... Others because they didn't finish in the time they had wanted... Others from pain...  A satisfied smile, a very satisfied smile...  The look of joy on their faces when they spotted a family member in the crowd...  Watching four boys run up to their mother with bouquets of roses... Seeing a runner holding up a picture of a loved one who had died...

I had been receiving texts each time my brother finished 5 kilometers, and eventually when he had finished the race.  When I got his "Finish" text, I texted his phone, and told him where I was waiting.  He texted me back, "It's really slow here at the finish area.  I'm really hurting.  Call Maria."  So, I called Maria, and started "actively" waiting for my brother at the finish area - it would take him about 15-20 minutes to get the Park exit.

I saw Maria run out of the crowd and run up to him.  I followed right behind her.  And it turned out that another friend of his from California had come out this weekend to cheer him on.  Jay looked fine...

Thankfully, by the time Jay had exited Central Park, he was feeling better.  He explained that all he wanted to do after he crossed the finish line was to lie down and stretch for a bit, but since there were so many people at the finish line there was just no room to do that.  -And he still had that 14-block walk through the Park to get to his exit area.  So, he took advantage of the 14-block walk to step to the side of walking path to stretch for a bit - he said some medical personnel came toward him because they thought he was going to get sick and/or collaspe.  But, again he was fine.  Although...

It is very unusual for Jrand not to be the first to finish.  I'm thrilled two people finished it so fast and seemed to like it.

Singdaw and Cilla, please be the first to write amazon reviews - it's very important.

I am starting to read RIGHT NOW!!!

Congratulations to JAY brother of DR JOSE.

I enjoyed TAR tonight - but I refuse to say anything else, even if I don't mention a name, a team, a destination, OR a commercial break - I am ALWAYS accused of being a spoiler.

So....enjoy, fans.

After trying to take a train back down to Chelsea - the trains really were messed up today - we headed back out of the station and hailed a cab back down to Chelsea.  Jay stretched some more, got cleaned up, and then we headed out to dinner.  Since we were in Chelsea, we went to one of my favorite Chinese places, Grand Sichuan.

We ordered lots of food, lots of good.  And I believe I had one of the spiciest dishes I've had in a long time: Housemade Tofu in Spicy Sauce with Pork.  Well, it sure was Spicy!  My eyes practically started watering when the dish was placed on the table.  And once I took my first bite... HOT!!!!!  Good, but HOT!!!!!  Thankfully, after a few more bites, I started to get acclimated to all the hot chile sauce - and sweating too.  :)

Then on the way back from restaurant, we stopped into Choux Factory to pick up some Cream Puffs for dessert.  YUM!

All in all, a wonderful day, and it really was great getting to spend some time with my brothers.

And the opening number sounded really good, and they were all kind of marking the choreography and it seemed like they had it down.  The young boy, Zane, is great.
