Back from Encores! and everything is rteady for Wednesday's orchestra rehearsal. I spent the first couple of hours there correcting band parts for the Act Three Prelude and "I've Got You To Lean On," then Joshie and i divided up the Cookie Chase, all 726(?) bars, and corrected that. While we were tackling the big ballet, Greg the Intern got through a couple of numbers and Rob Berman stopped in for a bit and worked on another. When I finished the Cookie Chase, all of the show was ready for Wednesday. We're all very happy and I wish I could be at Wednesday's reading.

Also, many good finds at the McGlinnventory, and I came home with several choice items. I am very tired.

Blurb?  You want a blurb?  How 'bout:  How many friggin' times do they have to release GISELLE on Blu-ray?  And why do I have to review each of them.  --JMK  ;)

Wow, so glad everyone liked the blurb so much, really I am ::)
Loved the blurb, BK. Makes me want to read the new book even more, em dashes or no.
Just back from having bought a new computer, so I can keep up with the postings and without worrying that the old laptop will overheat.

A Mother Superior of a convent was sitting at her desk when her assistant came rushing into her office.  Closing the office door, the assistant solemnly announced "Mother Superior, I have news..."

"Well, what is it?" asked the head nun.

The assistant approached Mother Superior's desk, bowed her head close and whispered, "A case of Syphilis has been found among the sisters!"

"Oh, thank goodness!" exclaimed Mother Superior.  "I was getting sick of the Chablis!"

They intentionally turned off the power in my area early this morning. :(

Was it to spite you?

I think it was to cut down some trees.  I guess it would have been nice if they had advised people.

IT's a pain to have to reset everything.

When I go back down, I'll be watching THE UGLY TRUTH with Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler that I recorded off Starz-HD. I like both of them so I'm looking forward to seeing this romantic comedy.

I really liked it, which probably means you'll hate it. :)

Actually I don't think you'll hate it. Although I don't really think it's necessarily your kind of movie.

I thought it was sweet and funny.

I went to the library to pick up AMELIA. And it showed that COCO AVANT CHANEL was there for me to pick up. BUt they couldn't find it. It seems weird since someone had just brought it back that day. And usually when someone else has it reserved they keep it at the front.
I hope they find it.

Mary Clancy goes up to Father O'Grady after his Sunday morning service, and she's in tears.

He says, "So what's bothering you, Mary my dear?"

She says, "Oh, Father, I've got terrible news.  My husband passed away last night."

The priest says, "Oh, Mary, that's terrible.  Tell me, Mary, did he have any last requests?"

She says, "That he did, Father."

The priest says, "What did he ask, Mary?"

She says, "He said, 'Please Mary, put down that damn gun.'"

George, your new shelves look nice.  I like the color of the wall paint, and black kitty in the front makes a nice contrast.  Enjoy your 1st rehearsal.

Jane, thanks, thanks and thanks! ;D

Best news of the morning was getting blurb number one for the new book, from Rupert Holmes.  Here it is - I could not be happier:

Bruce Kimmel takes you into his confidence (and into his heart) as your first-person tour guide on the thrill ride of his acting career, with several of this planet's most ridiculous and unimaginable decades as backdrop for his story. His careening and caroming adventures move at a breath-taking pace and, as ever, Kimmel's endearing, self-effacing tone evokes Saroyan and Salinger, even as his book is populated with more familiar names than a fruitcake has raisins. Daft, deft, constantly touching and ultimately moving, our hero's effort to find his life, his love, and his "light" makes for a rare showbiz story that trades in tinsel and glitter for tenderness and hope.

Rupert Holmes

Very nice!  Congrats!

George, I enjoyed seeing your shelves. I'm sure you'll be pleased to have your DVD collection nicely organized. Won't your mother be impressed!

Your cat's name is Ebony? She's a darling.

Thanks, my mom might be impressed...but she didn't think that I should put the shelves there. ::)

Too bad for her. ;)

And Ebonie (not my spelling, but I kept it) is very affectionate, when she isn't cowering under my bed when other people come over.

Good Evening!

Well... My meeting/rehearsal went well.  Not entirely productive, so to speak, but at least things came together nicely by the time I left.

And then, since I was starting to feel a bit "coldish" - it was just a crappy day weather-wise here in NYC - I headed to the Edison (Hotel) Cafe for a bowl of their matzoh ball soup, and some of their chopped chicken livers.  Yum! :)

And then I headed on over to the music studio of my friend, Jennifer.  She has an opera presentation coming up in two weeks, and she was finishing up the flyers and postcards tonight.  Since I have some background in graphic design and layout, well... Almost three hours later...  But the postcard looks great! :)

There were a couple jokes I didn't get either, Fred, but I then there are some things I don't get here at HHW. I think I'm in the same category with DRs Jane and Laura on some things.
