Yesterday, I had brunch with my friend Margo at a small local restaurant called The New Moon.  I had a Monte Cristo with hash browns.  It wasn't too bad and it's local.  And the waiter was cute...young, but cute. ;) After brunch, I came home and did a lot of TV watching.  I also put up some new shelves for my DVDs!  Here's a picture:

I still have more DVDs to put up, but I'm sure I have enough room for them all.  We'll see about what videotapes I'll have room put there.

Today, I need to be at work by 9:00 am...at the absolute latest!  We start training on the acquisitions module of the new computer system that the library will be getting in May.  Everything will be different!  Even what the public sees on the library website will be different.  We have training today and tomorrow at 9:00, and Wednesday at 8:00 am.  That's too darned early for me! :P

But the best part of the day is that we start rehearsals for The Brain From Planet X tonight!!  I don't know if we'll have a read-through or just start in with the music.  We'll see.  I can't wait!  It's finally happening! ;D

And now, to bed.  I need to get up earlier than I usually do.  I don't like that part.

Good morning, all! It was not fun knowing that at 6:30 am it was really 5:30 am, but I am out of bed and about to head to the McGlinnventory. I'll finish up there around 11:30 or so, and then I have to stop at Encores! and help Joshie and Greg prepare for Wednesday's orchestra reading of ANYONE CAN WHISTLE. I suspect that will keep me busy most of the afternoon.

I'm planning another trip to the LoC for more Herbert songs, and I may do that the last week of March, depending on my finances.

An ice fisherman wasn't catching anything, but he noticed the man next to him already had a nice stack of fish.

He finally ask the man how he did it, and the man mumbled something he couldn't understand.  He asked again, again the mumbling he couldn't understand...so he asked again....

"What's your secret?"

The man spit out a mouthful of worms and said: "Keep your bait warm."

I had to review NOVEL BASED ON THE PRECIOUS SAPPHIRE BY PUSH (or something like that), and, believe me, I'm positive I don't want to see it.  ;)

On the other hand, Sidibe and Mo'Nique are stupendously effective in their roles.

In happier film news, if y'all visit Blu-ray.com's News section, there's a link to a $10 off coupon on tomorrow's release of THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG.  That means you will probably be able to get the Blu-ray combo pack for just a little more than $10 at most major retailers.

LOL & OMG--DR JRand, that is the very first joke that popped into me head when I read the TOD!

Great minds, as they say...

TOD:

I'll start off with an Ollie and Lena joke:

One day Ollie came home early from working in his wheat field, and he found his wife Lena sitting on their bed, stark naked and crying.

"For what are you crying and sitting there in the all-together in the middle of the day, Lena?" asked Ollie.

Lena looked up at him and sobbed, "I don't have anything nice to wear!"

"What are you talkin' about, Lena?" said Ollie.  He pulled open her closet door.  "Just look at all the nice things you have in here.  Here's your yellow dress with the little daisies...here's your Sunday go-to-church dress...here's your purple dress...here's our neighbor Sven...here's Saturday night church social dress..."

A drunk staggers into a Catholic Church, enters a confessional booth, sits down, but says nothing.

The Priest coughs a few times to get his attention, but the drunk continues to sit there.

Finally, the Priest pounds three times on the wall.

The drunk mumbles, "Ain't no use knockin, there's no toliet paper on this side either."

Good morning!

Very beautiful morning here. Walked in the dark again and will for another couple of weeks, but it was cool and very enjoyable. Some rain maybe Wednesday but should be beautiful otherwise.

I see that CBS and ABC's CASTLE are taking a night off from new episodes and showing reruns. Fox, NBC, and the CW all have new episodes tonight, so I'll be sure to tune into CHUCK and '24' while recording LAW & ORDER and, of course, DAMAGES on FX.

Today's work project is the conclusion of the Criterion box set of PEDRO COSTA movies, an entire supplemental disc of bonus features including some of the director's short films and some scene-specific commentary tracks for COLOSSAL YOUTH which I watched last night.

Words cannot express by eletion knowing I'll be finished with this thing tonight. It has been the least enjoyable reviewing assignment I've had since I had to watch those two spatter films last fall. I hated them, but at least SOMETHING was happening however repellant.
