Ha ha. I have a ticket to that, JRand. I'm looking forward to it.

I wonder if George will be very tanned?

Here are some photos I took last week.

See the pretty river? Notice the cottonwood tree way off in the distance (in the center of the photo).

The skin damage he was treated for - seriously - last August turned out not to be skin cancer apparently, but here's hoping he learned something from that experience.

Here's one of the articles from last summer:

I've been finishing the last of the laundry since our trip, ending with fresh sheets this morning.  I still have some things to clear up I had better finish doing.  I forgot we have company stopping by this afternoon.  Craig reminded me there is a game he will be watching.  Horror of horrors ;) I suggested he record while she visits.  He will be social, I just doubt the entire time our guest is here.

Needless to say, because we have so mcuh free time, we'd done the (sort of somber) THE BEST OF TANS!

Tune of THE BEST OF TIMES from LA CAGE, but a fan wish, sort-of seriously.

The best of tans was yours
Watch out next summer. you’ve been lucky, friend
The best of tans was yours
And your fans cheer the news that you / are on / the mend

George, change your habits fast,
Your fans all love you and the wish we send:
Make sun part of your past
Time for the quest for tans to end, to end, to end

Now, your charm’s as great as years ago
Still, fans worry and want you to know

So change your habits fast,
We’re glad to hear that you are better now
You’ll never be outclassed
Your fans adore you still, and how, and how, and how!

Finally caught up with all the BK notes I've missed these past few weeks!

A lot of exciting stuff!!

And now all the Haines postings from that time. That will take a few days I'm sure.

Welcome back, Michael S.

BK:

What was the name of the Lucas Tanner episode you were in? (If it had an on screen title)

For some strange reason (known only to my screwy brain) I still remember the name of one powerful episode from the TV series MR. NOVAK in the mid-Sixties.  The episode was entitled, "Where Is There To Go, Billy, But Up."

I received an email for a discount ticket for Follies -  I just bought a row 2 Orchestra seat for next Saturday's matinee

I feel very selfish for buying a ticket just for me -  but I really really really wanted to see this production

Last night I dreamed I was offered the role of Buddy in the national tour of FOLLIES.  That meant that my former actor friend, Bobby, was shut out of the casting.  So, I told them I would only take the role of Ben.  So they gave me the role of Ben, and Bobby got the role of Buddy.

I have been perusing Chili recipes on the web and in books - the problem being I don't know what they taste like

Why not make one or two of the ones that sound best, and then sample them.

"Glee" season two came in at the library. I saw the first half last year, but that still means I have about five days to watch 10 episodes.

Vixmom, I envy you your tickets to see "Follies." I love the recording and would really love to see this production. Oh, well, I bought a CD of some production in the past with John Cullum, who is one of my favorite singers. Maybe I'll have to watch it one of these days.

ticket

I am being completely selfish and going on my lonesome ---

neither the Vixter nor Vixdad is really enthusiastic about seeing it so I am leaving them behind

It is too bad that the Vixter is not interested in seeing FOLLIES.  It is one of the all-time greatest musicals ever written, and who knows when this type of production will ever be mounted again.

And I say that, even though I think the show stumbles in the final quarter of the show.

My goodness, BK would be livid. A half mile away one of their bandstands is set up. I can hear the band from here. On a Sunday morning. When this neighborhood probably all planned on sleeping in. You know, since we can't go out anywhere.
At least you just get the marathon.  I get the marathon and the friggin' Fiesta Bowl Parade and the Electric Light Parade (which is cute but a pain) AND the Veteran's Day Parade AND..........

do you live in Disneyland?

Fantasyland!   ;)

I love the show, but I think this current production is a good summer stock production that isn't better because the director lets it down at every turn. Some good performances, and some that needed direction that they never got.
