I should go back to the office and work, but there is no way I'm going out in this cold tonight.

Knowing you I would expect you  have taken work home with you.

A little bit.  I always bring something home, doesn't mean I touch it, but I bring it home ;)

Just back from a long walk with Zach.  It's not that cold here yet, but I guess it's coming.

LOL. Good one, Cillaliz.

It cracked me up at the time.  I'm going to watch Love in the time of Cholera.  It's one of my favorite books and I missed the film when it was in the theater

For Ask bk day:

Team Mercer has been trying to find out what Henry Fonda film inspired the song Jeepers Creepers. As the story goes, Johnny and his wife Ginger went to see a movie where Fonda played a farmer and somewhere in the movie he uttered that famous line, kind of a toned down version of "Jesus Christ".

Any ideas from bk or anyone else? I'd like to use the clip in our film.

Just stopping by for a minute.  I am not attending rehearsal tonight.  I have been sick to my stomach for the last couple of hours, and now I am feeling quite chilled.  I cannot be sick, I have leave time left, plus I have the memorial service on Saturday.

I am going to bed and I am going to pray for a miracle.

If anyone is a fan of Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens..this year is the 50th Anniversary of the plane crash.  The Des Moines Register has a really good tribute at their site and the Surf Ballroom (yup it's still there) is having a bit Winter party.

I'm always aware of that day, since it's my birthday. In other words, I was born on "The Day The Music Died". (But not the year the music died...)

I had some fun viewing experiences tonight.

I began by watching partof a Bud Greenspan documentary on the 1998 Winter Olympics. I'd watched b its and pieces multiple times but had always managed to miss the part about the women's figure skating drama: Kwan-Lipinski and Chen=Butyrskya. Anyway I finally got the DVR to record it tonight and I skimmed through it until I got to what I wanted to see. It was about 20 minutes into the film. Very enjoyable.

I mentioned this earlier today in a prior post here.

Ironic that one of his sexiest roles as a boxer in RIGHT CROSS was shown today on TCM.

Next, I watched GHOST RIDER recorded from Starz-HD which was just added to our cable system a few days ago (after I've been begging for it for years.) Now I want USA-HD, FX-HD and Bravo-HD.

GHOST RIDER was just OK. Never quite figured out the mythology of the character or how his powers quite worked. In the Marvel Universe, I would not put this near the top.

When I finished that, I took out my 1998 Olympics Skating DVD to watch the entire performances of Lu Chen, Tara Lipinski, and Michelle Kwan. Irina Slutskya (who finshed fifth) wasn't included on this commercial DVD, but I believe I did record her free skate on an old videotape. If I get some time this weekend, I might try to drag that out.

And then I watched tonight's DAMAGES. Intriguing revelations (as there will be every week during the run) made for a fast-paced hour.
