ASK BK

What current group of Broadway performers would you use for one of your concept albums? (Peter Pan, Unsung ________, Lost In Boston etc)

The missing Indiana investment banker - Mark Schrenker - was found in a campground in Florida with one wrist cut.  Even though his wife just filed for divorce, police think she may have been involved in his securities schemes.  She denies it....through her attorneys.

Snow......started at 6 a.m. and continuing.

I was watching Fox 59 local news and guess who I saw?  Friend of MR BK, Barry Pearl, who is in town with HAPPY DAYS THE MUSICAL.  He was being interviewed about the show backstage at Clowes Hall.  He looked nice in his coral sweater and put a very nice spin on the show, there were silent clips of some of the musical numbers.

My question for ASK BK day.....what book or short story (other than your own) that has NEVER been filmed, do you think would make a fine film or mini series?

Druxy - Thanks so much for the useful insights about parody; it really got me reading.  Since my lawyering experience is limited to tax (law school was over 25 years ago for me), I didn't know a lot of this stuff about where the parody rules have developed over the past decade(s).

If anyone's interested, some fascinating (even surprising, to me) developments are recounted in this Wikipedia entry:

More and more favorable for the person doing the parody, it seems.

This is good news, DR FJL.

That link was almost as much fun as the Treadmill Kittens we had last night!

EMAIL vibes for MR BK.

Jrand - I know, it's a little dry in the reading, LOL, but for example the stuff about Rick Dees - being able to parody a writer's work in order to parody Johnny Mathis' singing style seems like a big step, and surprising to me also.

Good morning, all! The laundry is in the washers and I'm finishing up my oatmeal as I type this. I was unconscious around 9:430 last night and I got up around 7, so that's nearly 10 hours of sleep and plenty for today. When the clothes go into the dryers, I'll take my walk, come back and vacuum, and return to Mr Loesser's score.

Later today, I shall head down to Toyland for some work before I see our office manager Matthew's band perform in SoHo.

I've got to mop the floors with pesticide at some point. When?

You can sing "Mop the floors with pesticide" to the tune of "Link your elbows, step in time" if anyone's looking to write a parody.

"Mop the floors with pesticide" also works with "Every Day A Little Death".

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.

Sounds like a Cole Porter lyric, doesn't it?

Wednesday morning greetings!  After a day of vegging out in front of the TV, I'm ready to be more productive today.  Keeping busy will help me not fret too much about DH Richard driving back from London (Ohio) in a snowstorm.

It's difficult to write parodies ever since they permanently took down that Russian musical theatre lyrics website.
