The Space needle New Year's Eve.

Looks like it exceeds international standards, but it is a bit premature isn't it   ;)

In New Zealand I think they drop a hobbit into molten lava to ring in the New Year.

Pearl went on a midnight moonlight newt hunt.

And did Pearl find any new newts for her nephews? Or was the midnight moonlight moot?

We are having mojitos (made by Rob) and cocktail shrimp in the run up to midnight.  Also watching Fred & Ginger on TCM.  See y'all next year!

Uh, that won't be happening. Some of us old folks need our sleep.

I do adore Les Demoiselles De Rochefort - so charming and almost-colorful.  The DVD doesn't get it quite right and I think Mr. Demy would be somewhat appalled by his wife's restoration of this film.  Not enough blue - it's still got nice color but the contrast is milky and the transfer itself is old and should be redone.  I had a gorgeous 16mm IB Tech print of this film and know exactly what it should look like.

Midnight by my watch, too.

And yet I hear nothing. What's up? I hear fireworks EVERY year!
