Susceptibility to Colds Linked to a Lack of Sleep

*It's been interesting reading the reactions from medical residents to this study since they have no choice during residency to have anything but "bad" sleep patterns.

MIL update...

Yesterday my FIL also "fell out" so Greg took care of him and took him home to spend the night. He has been pretty much living at the hospital and very sleep deprived so he slept very well in his own bed.

MIL had another episode yesterday which took her to the ER and the decision was made to install a pacemaker. She is out of surgery now and in ICU. We visited her as soon as they let us and now we are waiting until we're allowed to visit a little more. Greg will probably go home with his dad again tonight. I feel really lucky that he didn't have any jobs booked early this week.

Thank you all for the continued vibes---as you can see, we still need them!

And the hospital does not seem to like HHW---it took me hours to get on!

I forgot to comment on the TOD earlier.

Best french fries I've ever had were at Sizzlin' Steakhouses that used to be all over Charlotte. There are none left now, but I've never had anything like those fries. Sliced into long, thick slices with the skin still on and fried to a golden brown, they were enough for a meal even without having a steak. Don't know where they found so many potatoes that big which could produce slices that thick and long.

Best onion rings were at a restaurant I took Jose to when he and I had dinner together a couple of years ago - The Landmark, a favorite after hours restaurant/diner for the theater crowd. I didn't have any the night he and I were there, but have had them many times with casts of various shows after a performance.

I spent most of the afternoon with NATIONAL LAMPOON'S STONED AGE. Allegedly the title was changed from HOMO ERECTUS because video stores complained to Paramount that it sounded like gay porn and didn't want to stock it, so they changed it.

Under whatever title you want to give it, it's AWFUL. I didn't even crack a smile during the entire 88 minutes. And wonderful names in the cast: Talia Shire, Gary Busey, David Carradine, Ali Larter, but this thing is just pathetic. Ugh!

I did watch Monday's AS THE WORLD TURNS for the momentous biblical coupling of Luke and Noah (done off camera, however). Now that all that angst is behind them, I'm curious to see what stories they come up with for the couple.

Ah...maybe that's what it is.

I usually only get sick once a year, but I have now had this sinus thingy twice in one month. The first time when my dad was in the hospital, and now with my MIL in the hospital. Maybe I am allergic to hospitals?
