My good deed yesterday was taking all of the copies of Coulter's new book and hiding them behind other titles in our book section.
LOL - watch out, they'll take away your conservative credentials, Woody!
There's a difference between conservative and whackjob.  Problem is, the whackjobs don't know that there's a difference.

LOL!

OK, we're off to tour the town.  (Seems there's a limited amount of extras on the disc, after all!)  (Either that or der B has a limited amount of Dark Knight tolerance.)

Hasta.

OK... I keep thinking that it's Wednesday already.  Then realize/remember that it's Tuesday.  Then I think it's Wednesday again.  Then Tuesday.  And so on and so on.

I guess that means that I should get out of the house today.

::)

If you got out earlier, you could have caught a matinee.

Well, since I'm in Richmond right now, there are no midweek matinees.  Although, the Westhampton does start their screenings at 4:30.  Alas, since I've seen everything already, well...

TOD:

I think that the best french fries I've ever had were those served by McDonald's before that franchise bowed to pressure to change the oil it used.  Sigh.

The best fried onion rings I've ever had are my mom's.   Ooooooooooooohhhhh-h-h-h-h-h!

For a while, Burger King was touting how their fries were the best-tasting over McDonald's and I definitely preferred them.  I think it had to do with coating them with something before they were fried.  But at some point during the past five years, they changed the recipe again and they tasted blander.  I know prefer McD's.

That's much nicer than my friend's approach of sticking a piece of chewing gum between the pages.

Dr Phil's show just pissed me off by promoting two idiot "homo-no mo-saving your child from homosexuality" psychologists to give a mother hell for encouraging her son's wish to become transgendered. Pisses me off for promoting such assholes calling themselves child psychologists and writing swill like this:

As for the Topic of the Day...

French Fries:

For fast food: The "original" McDonald's French Fries - before they changed the formula - twice!  I like the Burger King ones, but they tend to lose a lot of their of their appeal as they cool down. The McD's fries were always good until they were stone cold.  -And the "little crunchies" are still the best!  *And, yes, both BK and Hardee's "treated" their fries with sugar/corn syrup.

Oh... And I guess the curly fries from Arby's - although, I usually get their potato cakes.  And the waffle fries from Chik-fil-A.

The whole Boardwalk Fries - whether in brand or style - thing is OK, but they do tend to be more on the "soft" side - which, at times can be good.  The fried fish place in my 'hood has "boardwalk Restaurant/sit-down:

Joe's Inn in Richmond always has great shoestring fries.  Another Richmond standby, The Village, also has great fries - there were always rumors that they would give them a very light spritz with beer right after they took them out of the fryer, and right before they seasoned them.

I like the crinkle cut fries at Shake Shack in NYC, but I'm not a fanatic about them like some people are.  -Heck, they are basic food service supplied, frozen crinkle cut fries.

And when the kitchen at the Renaissance Diner in NYC is on their game, their sweet potato fries served with a dusting of confectioner's sugar and a bowl of maple/pancake syrup... YUM!!!

I thought I had something wrong in my french fry post.  This is what I meant to say about curly fries and Chik-fil-A.

As for the Topic of the Day - Part 2 - The Onion Rings Edition...

Fast Food:  Popeye's!!!  It's just too bad that they're an occasional "special menu item" nowadays, rather than on the regular menu.  It was always worth the extra charge and the wait time for them to come up.

Restaurant/sit-down: The aforementioned Joe's Inn and The Village in Richmond have great onion rings - usually a meal unto themselves.

Most steakhouses tend to do the giant onion ring thing very well: Shula's, Morton's, etc.  However, I think my favorites are still the one from the District Chop House & Brewery in DC.  -Which, as I just found out (thanks to Google) is part of the Rock Bottom Restaurant family of restaurants.

I was wundrin' about that too.  In fact, since there's a Chik-fil-A just a mile from here, I was about to go see if they had added curly fries to their menu.  All in the name of fact-checking and research, ya' know. ;)
