Oh, I got my Adventures of Captain Marvel DVD in the mail today.  VERY exciting.  I shall watch some of it this very evening.  And waiting for me tomorrow will be Japanese DVD releases of Two for the Road and How to Steal a Million and one other movie I can't remember.

The Significant Other and myself went out for dinner at Tucci Benucch, an Italian restaurant at (of all places) the Mall of America, and stayed in to watch the deeveedee of THE MASK OF ZORRO.  The dinner was delicious, pesto chicken linguine; the movie was fabuluous, too...even if the print 20th Century Fox used wasn't exactly top-notch.  But, the movie is so darned fun, I cut it a lotta slack.  Really, really nice Alfred Newman score on this one.  The movie, not our dinner.  That had music provided by Bobby Darin, Keely Smith and Frank Sinatra.  Not too shabby an evening, overall.

Is the dinner break over.  I had a huge Quizno's sandwich, and also a teeny-tiny bag of those chocolate chip cookies (I mean not even two ounces big) and a teeny-tiny bag of those Cheese Nips.  So, I'm deciding if there should be any more food for me tonight.

Bruce, did you see my question over on the DVD board?

7. 13, 16, 23, 30, 42

Those are the future winning lotto numbers.  I have spoken.  And am ignored by the lotto gods week after week.

This is out of context, obviously, and is hysterical when I think of who I thought wrote it before I read the whole thing!

Sorry, dude...

Jennifer, if you are also going to eliminate shows that have toured all over the country, how are going to decide between tours and shows that open out of town?  Hairspary originally opened in Seattle at the 5th Avenue.  Should it have been eliminated from Tony consideration?  What about Light In The Piazza?  Should it  be considered a revival if and when it makes it to Broadway?

Well of course Hairspray would be considered new since it played out of town to prepare for Broadway (and only a couple months prior).

I would even consider Light in the Piazza new probably because shows do need to work out their kinks.

I do see the point that if the tonys are only for broadway then any show not having played broadway should be considered new.  But I still feel the way I feel.

Btw, one thing I detest is when producers of the shows decide which category their show should be in based on which category they could win.

DR Jane: Yes I am having fun with the bracelet. But I need more charms.

DR Andrea: Does this mean that you and CYGOPP are back together?

DR Emily: I will definitely check out that Wicked special on A&E.

And re: Rent: Is it a young thing?  I suspect more young people might like Rent (although my parents loved it, and my dad doesn't usually warm up that much to gay themes).

Question: Does anybody here who SAW the original broadway cast hate rent?  I just cannot imagine it.  The show with a regular cast is good. But the OBC was literally so much better. I was practically in tears. And my favorite was the sexy Jesse L. Martin.

I'm with Dear Reader SWoodyWhite.  If Assassins qualifies as a new musical this year, then La Boheme should have qualified as a "new" musical last year.  I can just hear the presenter for Best Musical saying:  "Accepting for Giacomo Puccini is..."

DR Jose: Which rooms did Hildy and Kia do?  I can't believe that so many hate Hildy. She is one of my favorites. Yes the records and a few others have been horrid. But I usually love her stuff. When she doesn't go crazy she can do such beautiful stuff.

Btw, was the episode you just watched the one that played last sunday (where kia used a horrid neon yellow paint & hildy did a spectacular purple and blue kitchen).

That kitchen was so elegant. The man was so adamant about the pink/purple. But I had a feeling Hildy new the paint would dry dark.  He was happy at the end and so was I!

You guys are making me hungry.

But I'm so pleased with my diet. It has really made a huge difference.  Now if I can just stick with the exercise. I'm sort of mad that I haven't been up for exercising. Cause if I can see this big a difference with just food. Imagine what I'd see if I had exercised like I should have. Oh well, there is always next week. And exercising is one of my resolutions.

This is not good.

Well, I thought that I was going to have a nice evening home with my DVD and VCR players, but I forgot (but thankfully remembered in time) that I am supposed to usher tonight (in about 35 minutes, actually) for a touring production of "Le Nozze de Figaro" (the opera). :-\ Anyway, I have to go home and get my white shirt and dark socks so that I'll be appropriately dressed.  I don't know how long the show runs, but I'll check in after it's over...probably very late.

If the ushers wear only a shirt and socks at George's opera house, I'm thinking opera must be a very popular art form in his home town.

Perhaps Dear Reader Laura is shy about posting such things, but, unfortunately, she had to put one of her cats, who was quite ill, to sleep today.  Let's send good thoughts her way.

DR Jennifer - Kudos to you with your diet!  I wish I could stick with mine right now, but something in me just doesn't want to do it right now.  Thankfully, I have not put back all the weight I lost over the past year, and I do have the "feeling" that I never will.

I guess my body and my mind knows that I will be going to NYC next week.  And while in NYC I will eat.  And not always things from the "approved" list.  So, why be "good" know, when it's all going to go out the window next week.

And one of my big motivations are those five pairs of really nice, sort of pricey, pants I bought in August.  I WILL FIT INTO THEM - AGAIN!

-I will not eat the whole bag...
-I will not eat the whole bag...
-I will not eat the whole bag...

Ha ha Jay, that is so funny.  But so true :)

I've even stopped re-reading my posts for some reason. So there could be tons of errors!

Btw, just got 2 thought provoking emails. One from a dear girlfriend telling me I need to dump The Guy. And the other from my sister's husband's sister telling me about the kids (the 3 yr old apparently the spiderman barbie i gave him for x-mas in two). Oh fun.

Sorry DR Emily: Cool down then talk it out and apologize (that always helps).
