We watched Mrs. Henderson Presents last night. Lots of fun. I enjoyed it very much.

We have The Shooting Party and another DVD to watch. We borrowed them from our friend Alfred (he bought the USB turntable).

We won't if we don't indulge in excess.

Busy, busy morning.  Lots of make-work implemented recently by folks who ought to know better.

Oh, well.

We have a database in which all pertinent contract data is stored.

Whenever an invoice arrives, we have traditionally entered the Purchase Order number, and then we processed the invoice for payment.  The database does all the rest.

NOW we have to put a cover letter on the invoice payment that gives ALL the information about the invoice (ON the invoice) and the PO (in the database).

No matter how much work data systems can alleviate, humans will find a way of doubling the workload on the employee.

The way it has rained here in SW Ohio, pretty much nonstop for the past 24 hours, if the temps had been 20o lower we'd probably be snowbound.

I've also noticed that now the taxes on the estate are paid and the Macbeths are no longer an essential part of my communication, I'm sleepng much easier.

It's the end of an era.

I may have been mistaken about my lunch and/or dinner today.  I hope I was, as I'd much rather just nibble on foodstuffs here, whilst I work.

9 minutes until my weekly meeting to discuss the status of the new database which they hope to launch in December. I will not be here in December. I am glad.

I do hope that when I arrive at the office tomorrow morning there are corrected pages on my desk which will entail another round of proofreading to ensure that all corrections I sent upstairs this morning have been made.

I got many hairs cut this afternoon while on my lunch hour. I didn't return home after the haircut to shake out my shirt and undershirt. I am feeling the effects of a hair cut in that I have those tiny little hairs that fall into your shirt after you have your hair cut. I may have to retire to the employee bathroom, remove my shirt and shake it forcefully in one of the bathroom stalls.

One thing that makes my eyes well up each and every time is the finale/final track of the OBC of The Secret Garden.

I LOVE this, also!

Just be careful not to adopt a "wide stance" whilst you're doing it.

On Friday we visited with a dear friend and helped him set up his IONiTT USB10 turntable.

I have one of these.  I'm afraid to take it out of the box!   :-\

TOD:

I never bought '45s, and really shouldn't have bought too many albums (didn't start buying my own music till around 1991), but having too many great used music stores near me back in the day meant that the record collection is just a wee bit overflowing. Loved listening to Golden Books on records as a tot, though... does that count?

Some songs that make me laugh: "10,432 Sheep," "Adelaide's Lament," anything by Tom Lehrer, Allen Sherman, Victor Borge, or Anna Russell.

Some songs that make me smile: "Cherish" by Madonna (I didn't just admit that, did I?), every single friggin' song in "She Loves Me"

Some songs that make me weep: "Mr. Tanner" by Harry Chapin, "Send in the Clowns," "Yerushalayim" by Abie Rottenberg (composer for an Orthodox Jewish group called Journeys, not to be confused with the "Don't Stop Believing" group), "Mama, Look Sharp," "Bring Him Home" (Dudu Fisher on the original Israeli Les Mis cast recording) .

Hear, hear! "And this, my lovely child, is your garden!" *bwah!*  :'(

Which reminds me:

The opening of "Children and Art" ("mama is everywhere/she must have loved him so much")... just make sure that the Kleenex is nearby.

I forgot to mention that I think starting with episode nineteen, David Duchovny joined Twin Peaks - don't know how long he's on it, but he's VERY amusing.

I hate to say "I told you so," so, I won't.

We're going to go out and have breakfast if we can find it at 3:30, and thing about the TOD. Almost too many songs qualify for me!

But as for the song that always makes me cry:
WHEN SOMEBODY LOVED ME from TOY STORY never fails, no matter who sings it.
