Good morning, all! I'm off to Toyland: I've got some scores to photocopy for THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER, and I'll hang out at the office for a whle. When I get back, I need to move some furniture around to accommodate the plasterer(s) who are arriving early tomorrow morning to do some repairs.
Last night I fnally watched STARDUST, and what a lovely fantasy it is. Mark Strong, who plays the gangster-ish nightclub owner in MISS PETTIGREW, is the evil Prince Septimus, and I loved the whole madness of the brothers killing each other off to inherit the throne because it hits so close to home. Seeing Henry Cavill in it reminded me that tonight THE TUDORS begins, but I have to see the new SENSE & SENSIBILITY on PBS, so I guess I'll catch it tomorrow on the On Demand channel.
BK's posting last night about the letter from the Nudie Musical fan makes me wonder how many of you ihave contacted people who were an influence and told them? I've spoken to Judy Collins and the men in the Chad Mitchell Trio about how important they were to me in shaping my thinking and listening, and a couple of years ago I tracked down a person I worked with in the summer of 1966 to thank him for his counsel and thoughts during a lousy summer of working construction.
