In no way do I think the task before us will be easy, but over the last week there have been some productive family discussions that have given Richard some guidance.  Many items had already been given, by Harriet herself, to those she'd chosen.  And, I think it will be a good thing for Richard and me to be there by ourselves, at least at the beginning.

I'm pretending to be MATTH today (I'm wearing a mask of his avatar) and taking care of some household chores, as well as doing requisite personal business.

And the word of the day is: GADARENE!
The GADARENE masses so ENRAGED A demon that he stopped what he was doing and called them all a bunch of pigs.

Wishes for a most pleasant day for our DR Elmore, although I'm wondering how anyone who is ageless can have a birthday.

My computer glasses are missing.  Der Brucer and I searched, but they have disappeared.  They are not where I normally leave them, nor are they anyplace near where I normally leave them, nor are they anywhere near where I normally set down my regular pair of glasses.

Der B and I are quite puzzled by their disappearance.  And trying to use the computer without them is making me a little nauseous.

Bleh.

Andrew Sullivan's blog in THE ATLANTIC has been running a contest for the best mvoie line ever.

So far the tip five are:

"Oh Charlie, oh Charlie ... you don't understand. I could have had class. I could have been a contender. I could have been somebody, instead of a bum—which is what I am," On The Waterfront

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning." "Apocalypse Now."

"What we've got here is failure to communicate." "Cool Hand Luke.

"I'm shocked, shocked ..." Casablanca

"These go to eleven" Spinal Tap

Where to the professional bloggers get such clever ideas?

der Brucer

What the heck?  Certainly the top five should have included "Put... the candle... back!"  (Young Frankenstein)

Thank you for such a lovely compliment, DR SWW! I feel I'm more like a cheese: the older and rottener, the better I am!

My brother Randy called with good news about a prospective bidder on my dad's property, so I spoke to him and my wonderful sister-in-law Jo.  No word from the Macbeths, but seriously, folks, did I expect it?

You will all be dumbfounded to learn that I have been feeling a bit snarky lately (I KNOW!), but have taken it to another forum where "entitlement" seems to be the order of the day for those who believe they can discuss anything they want (forum rules be damned) and simply will not tolerate being told their discussion is forbidden.

I don't think anyone here would disagree that I am not a graduate of the touchy-feely school.  I think our society has gone to hell in a handbag full of touchy-feely, and I'm determined to live out my life as one who won't have any more of it.

If you've got a booger hanging out of your nose, I'm gonna by-gosh tell ya you have a booger hanging out of your nose.

If I'm wrong about it...and it's a growth of some kind that I was supposed to be gracious enough to ignore, then I'll apologize.  But if the latter is the case, I'm gonna say, "Damn!  Get that thang cut off!"

...The exotic or the junky-- isn't that the name of a new soap opera?
It's set in Hong Kong.
