I only watched the fashion show on Lost. Desmond, if they'd only pulled the camera back futher...!!!
I shall now be on my way to the airport.Glad to see you arose at that ungoldly hour! Did FJL give you a back-up wake-up jinlge of the telephonic device?
If I'd had them in a plastic bag I could have kept them. Now, I ask you, what is the difference in terms of their contents whether they're in a plastic bag or a leather toiletries case?
Glad to see you made it to the airport in time, BK. LA traffic makes it so difficult to plan; you must allow extra time, then often don't need it. Not very efficient!
I just read that the great Anna Russell died. I've been a fan of hers since the age of 8, when she was the voice of the witch in a stop-motion film of HANSEL AND GRETEL, Anna was camp before Susan Sontag ever put the word into the media.
Favorite Deli food: Chopped liver (another department where Atlanta is lacking despite the relentless influx of carpetbaggers.... errrr... Northerners.)
Thursday morning greetings! Today's a vacation day for me, so I got a nice sleep-in until almost 8am. Off to have my haircut, then to a luncheon with my DH, and my book group later this evening.DR Ginny, I love Michael Siberry! I don't know him personally, but I saw him in Peter Hall's production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE with Dustin Hoffman, Nathaniel Parker and Leigh Lawson. My memory is that he played Gratiano. I helped Dustin with research on the play and got a lovely gift from his office. This production is how I met Ben Browder who later became a TV star on FARSCAPE.
Here's the Cincinnati Enquirer review of
Monty Python's Spamalot (http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061018/ENT/310180001/1025/LIFE)
which we'll see a week from Sunday. It mentions Rick Holmes - could that be the same Richard Holmes whose performances we used to enjoy in the now-defunct Whitewater/Sorg Opera productions? I've tried to sort this out on the internet, but just get more confused.

Michael Siberry, if I remember correctly, played Nicholas Nickleby when the RSC brought the 8-hour production back to Broadway. He's quite funny in the Jeeves & Wooster series with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.
Wasn't he in that revival of THE SOUND OF MUSIC with Rebecca Luker, too, or am I thinking of someone else. I never saw it nor bought the cast album, but his name rings a bell.
Dreadful productions:
I was in a production of "Mame", the only non-dreadful part of which was the intermission, from which less than half the audience returned.
Woof!
It turns out that changing my address with the credit union isn't enough. There is some other banking entity that has to get my new address and that still won't happen for another 24 hours!! DAMN THEM! DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!! I missed out on a free DVD set (potentially two sets) because when I called to change my address at my credit union, they didn't tell me that it would take several days and that I shouldn't use my debit card. I would've held off changing my address so that I could order these now.
vibes of the 2 for 1 DVD kind to DR George!
And the word of the day is: REFULGENT!Casey would waltz

DR MBarnum - Did you check out the link I provided for you yesterday?
;)
I even printed out Sebastian's work out routine! LOL! Since I am hoping to get myself all buffed up for my LA trip...you never know who you might run into in LA!
Wow, I just found out that The New Christy Minstrels are playing in Salem this weekend! Who knew?
Aren't they dead?

Ginny, Rick Holmes is probably this guy http://www.ibdb.com/person.asp?ID=71585
The Opera Richard Holmes is here http://www.realmutoartists.com/holmes.htm
He is Rupert Holmes' brother.
I've known Richard Holmes for over 15 years and never knew he was Rupert's brother!
I even have this recording of Menotti's "The Telephone" with Richard Holmes!

Thanks for helping me sort this out. And, please, please, please, next time you're in touch with Rupert tell him how much we enjoyed Richard's performances here at the Sorg Opera House.
Save the cheerleader....
...save the World!
Oh, I'd be there for sure! Are they touring?
Ok, maybe I missed the explanation, but what on earth is this about?

It's from the NBC TV series HEROES. The cheerleader character is capable of recovering from any injury, and with the end of the world predicted, her ability to regenerate is going to be a key in saving the world. (All this is speculation, of course.)
Also read that actor T. R. Knight who plays the straight surgeon George O'Malley on GREy'S ANATOMY has come out as a gay man.
I'm guessing this was provoked by actor Isiah Washington calling him the gay "f-word" on the set the other day which resulted in the scuffle between Washington and Patrick Dempsey which was front page entertainment news last week. (Dempsey was defending his friend from the verbal slam.)
Unfortunately I will not be able to join in the HHW gathering this time round - hugs to all and when you talk about me (and you will) * say something nice!! :-* ;D
Yes, I did...and a very nice link it was! :D

DR TCB,
Wasn't it you who mentioned MY BROTHER NIKHIL? Thanks for the recommendation. After some effort I was able to find a copy. It is not available through the normal distribution channels (or Netflix), but Jim at videovault.com was kind enough to do some hunting, located a copy, and procured it for his store. Nice film. Quite moving. For those interested, it is the story of a champion swimmer in India who has AIDS. Much higher quality than the little bit of Bollywood I had seen. VideoVault does mail-order.

There is the touch method, y'know.Yeah Mike, but at their age they won't notice your body anyway![/i]
Good, I'll bring some dirty dishes as a special gift tomorrow night.I'm certain Joe Allen has it's own dishwasher.
I've written dear reader Michael Shayne a bitch-slapping e-mail. We'll see what his response is.
MusicGuy, I'm in the Hilton Garden on Eight between 48th and 49th. Hilton took this place over last year and have completely renovated it. I, of course, can't remember what it was (can anyone?) but it was fairly cheesy prior to this. I'm very picky about hotels and I'm more than happy here.
Next came last night's episode of THE NINE. We got to see early in the first hour of the hostage situation along with the continuing aftermath after they were freed. Compelling stuff, I think. The final scene in the living room had me on the verge of tears.

Page 6 cranberry dance!
I forgot to mention the two NBC comedies that I watched last night.
30 ROCK laid another egg with me apart from Alec Baldwin who really is the whole show. TIne Fey and Tracy Morgan just push too hard and aren't funny, and the show is sadly wasting Jane Krakowski's gifts. A shame.
I suspect this will be the last episode of the show that I watch.
Do you know if they are going to replay the first few episodes. I missed them due to the last episodes of project runway. I've seen approximately 1 1/2 episodes of this show and I think I'd like to add it to my repitoire.
Matt did you hear about the big shakeups at NBC?
Yes, I did read about the firings and changes in venue for MSNBC. I also read something kind of ominous. NBC isn't interested in producing dramas or comedies for showing in the 8 p.m. hour any more.
So, I guess we will be in for a raft of game shows and reality shows until someone new takes over and realizes how nutty that idea is.
UGLY BETTY tonight featured Betty's adorable nephew who fit RIGHT IN at Mod Magazine. DElightful episode. I really am enjoying this series about as much as any new show this season.
Matt, have you ever seen the British version of "THe Office"?
Oh, sure. I have the DVDs for both "seasons" or series as they call it. Hilarious but much darker and more unforgiving than the Americanized version.
