LOL Edi!

And my interviewee Diane McBain stars in SIDEHACKERS!

I KNEW IT!

I love MST3K's version of it, with their Sidehacker's song:

Sidehackin' is the thing to do
When it doesn't hurt to have a low IQ.
Take a life you like and a little love.
The big band prize is twenty-five bucks.
Sidehackin'll quench your danger thirst
The stupid ones always seem to come in first, yeah.

Sidehackin' is one big bash;
The favorite sport of cheap white trash.
When you're on your sidehack, make sure you don't slip;
You'll end up with five metal pins in your hip.
Lean way back 'til you scrape your butt;
Make it look like a quarter-pound of ground chuck, yeah.

It's a sport that attracts a lot of racing fools.
A lot of people get hurt 'cause there are no rules.
All you need is a toxic landfill,
A cycle and a sidecar and an urge to kill.
Better get with the sport 'cause it won't last long;
The founders of this sport are laid at Forest Lawn.

"Today’s topic of discussion: Tell us what sporting hobbies you’ve partaken of all throughout your life. I’m most interested in silly ones, like skateboarding, or boogie boarding, or surfing, or hang-gliding, etc."

I"ve never partaken of sporting hobbies...other than observing the Seattle Storm Women's basketball games with my niece.

I used to bicycle a lot in college. I am very inept at sports as is my entire family.

I guess I'll go mosey on over to the mail place, just in case something came in via another service besides USPS.  Then I'll get something to nibble on - perhaps Popeye's Fried Chicken or, if I want to be good, a Subway Club.

DH and I have been invited to a client's Oscar party. It includes an Oscar themed dish contest ---an award for most delicious and most creative name.  Past favorites were: "O Brother Where Art Cow": vegetarian chili, "Million Dollar Baby Ruth Brownies", or "Crouching Turkey, Hidden Dressing".

We haven't started thinking about a dish yet but I thought I would throw this out to the HHWers, for obvious reasons!

Popeye was my favorite character in Miss Firecracker!

Diane McBain was also in The Mini Skirt Mob which had a nifty theme song of its own.

On the subject of "culling":

DavidAtlanta

Quote
She gave her name as Carol Causieestko. She was leading a one-woman crusade to bring class back to modern society. It was, as one would imagine, quite the struggle. She gave an example of what she’s up against.

“A few months ago, I was at Atlantic Station for the Christmas tree lighting. I was dressed properly, with my gloves and a tailored little suit, and the most darling hat… And these two women in SWEATSUITS see me and snicker, laughing as though I have no sense and cannot see or hear them,” she lamented.

“And I think, 'I put a great deal of thought into how I would look this evening, while you obviously reached in the laundry pile and put on WHATEVER.' I do not own a ‘whatever.’ You will not find a ‘whatever’ in my closet. I only own ‘somethings.’

And the Rollerdome in Culver city?

I can't think of anything cooking-wise to do with this: GLAD-HE-ATE-HER. But it might be a good title for some cheap porn!

"The Good German" chocolate cake

"No Time For Nuts" on a bowl of M&Ms

"Poseidon" upside down cake

"Last King of Scotland": MacIncheese
