Wrong photo, but great nonetheless.
JRand, that would be a very fetching look for you.
I need to go lie down some more.
And the word of the day is: TRICHOTILLOMANIA!
Smoke on your pipe and put that in.
Surgery vibes for the friend of JohnG! I hope it helps his condition!A very strange thing happened yesterday. My friend Bruce went in for his surgery. He had prepared by having his hair cut to somewhere being a buzz cut and total shaving. He was prepped for surgery, had the IV in and was all ready when the doctor came in, saw his head and postponed the operation. It seems the lack of hair would make Bruce more vulnerable to infection, so he won't be operated on now until April 15. Go figure. His wife just packed him in the car and drove him home.
Last night, I searched through my library for my next book to read during my commute and I came across John Grisham's PLAYING FOR PIZZA. I had actually read it three-quarters of the way through when it first came out but put it down because I was getting pissed at the lead character. But I started it again this morning, determined to go all the way through this time. I forgot how funny it was and I'm kind of shocked that it has yet to be made into a movie.I gave up on Grisham because I kept getting too pissed at his main characters. I remember flinging the book across the room because of how horrible the ending was. Glad they changed it for the movie, which I hated because of Tom Cruise, but that's another story ...

Taking care of old people can have that effect, DR Edi! Glad to hear you survived yesterday and hope your DFiL's procedure goes well today.
Wonder if DR Elmore could convince his neighbor to buy a thick rug to muffle the footsteps, dog toenails and some of the unseemly activity above?
Elmore, the nice surprise email I got yesterday was from a guy in NYC who told me about attending Finian's closing weekend. He said Cheyenne was out the day he went, but that the show was fantastic!
A new big box store opened nearby called "The Dump". (Not to be confused with what Margaret Mitchell called her house.) I haven't read anything good about it!
Regarding the current Newman dynasty:
Randy Newman=Ragtime, The Natural, Awakenings
Thomas Newman=American Beauty, Shawshank Redemption, Little Women
David Newman=Operation Dumbo Drop, Norbit, Scooby Doo
They have all found their niche!
I know Randy's hard at work on Toy Story 3, but I hope he will be given the opportunity to turn out more great scores like AVALON, too.
In other news...
I'm having a Twitter-enabled(?) Friday evening. I won tickets from @carnegiehall to tonight's concert by the Kronos Quartet (http://www.carnegiehall.org/article/box_office/events/evt_13019.html?selecteddate=03122010).
Today my DF-I-L is having a procedure where they're going to zap the heart with electricity; maybe that's like rebooting your computer.
Bossa Nova was huge in Japan and in fact Sergio largely kept his career alive in his relatively lean US decade of the 1970's by working over there. Brasil '66 appeared at Expo 70 (there's a live recording available that was never released in the US, due to some pretty lackluster vocals by Karen Philipp--I've joked for years she had too much saki the night before). Sergio and his collaborator Oscar Castro-Neves also produced a slew of albums by Japanese singers doing Brasilian material. And Lisa Ono is one of the biggest Japanese stars who currently does a lot of Brasilian stuff.
The Godzila haiku are very funny, DerB!

Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm eating a "healthy" "organic" apple-cinnamon "pastry". <chew, chew, chew... chew, chew...>
I had a coonskin hat when I was young. I have no idea what happened to it. Every once in awhile I see them for sale in a gift shop.
I think I may make a sardinacado sandwich!

Cheyenne was out Friday night, Saturday matinee and evening (plane problems), and in for the Sunday closing. My memory is that he and Michael Feinstein had their show in Palm Springs and that Cheyenne left after Thursday's performance and was supposed to be back in for Saturday night but weather in the midwest held the plane up on Saturday. I still miss the show and crew.
The TV will be free while Woody devours his newly arrived 693 page tome: "Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale"

Note to George - order the book!
Yay - no jury duty for me on Monday!
Mouth & pain vibes for DR Jeanne. Go curl up in bed and pamper yourself.
When I go back down, I'll skim through today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE to see if there is anything of interest. I won't get to skim through AS THE WORLD TURNS until Monday morning.
A little potential disaster averted: Our next title for Kritzerland - one of the tracks didn't make it onto the iDisk so I had no idea of its existence. Fortunately, the mastering guy caught it - it was easy to figure out, the final cue - so we added it and now we have it right.
I think I may make a sardinacado sandwich!
They're great - made one yesterday!

I need to be carfeul of can disposal - Fletcher would love to get a hold of it and would probably cut his tongue; he also likes to dump the trash can to check for discarded goodies.
Funnily, even I don't have Beyond Therapy - while I completely finished mixing the album in terms of its performances, I hadn't replaced some temporary sfx (gunshot especially) and the fools who put it out didn't bother fixing or talking to me about it. Rather like the Sherman Brothers Album where they left half the band off.
I am going to see Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein's show tonight -- All About Me.
And yesterday, I received (from eBay) a VIDEOTAPE of The Irish...and how they got that way! This is a commercially produced video shown on TV (NOT a bootleg) and it's in practically new condition. It's the original Irish Repertory Theatre production, but with one or two cast member changes from the original CD (also produced by BK). Donna Kane isn't in it. I forget who else is different (the late Rusty Magee is still the pianist). But it's great! I'm curious if anyone here knew that this video existed. It's not even listed on http://castalbumcollector.com/, which I'll rectify this evening. ;)
Yikes! I shut down abruptly a while ago because we had a doozy of a thunder & lightening storm. Must be spring.

vibes to all as needs 'em...
Penny, I hope you have your rabies vaccinations up to date. ;)
Hi Penny. Bye Penny.
And speaking of THE BRAIN, are any of the other OUT-OF-TOWNERS (meaning those who live outside of Washington State) planning on attending the production in April?? Time is fast approaching folks!

True! And I'm sure that it's not sold out...yet (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/calendar/calendar_detail.asp?event_id=1160). ;)

Do you want a copy?
I am planning on showing up for The Brain - just have to figure it all out.
