Speaking of Jay Ward, does anyone remember FRACTURED FLICKERS, hosted by Hans Conried.  This was a half-hour program where Ward and his zanies put dialogue on actual old silent movies.  My favourite one was when they turned Lon Chaney's HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME into "Dinky Dunston: Boy Cheerleader".

Good afternoon all
Well, I get no three day weekend, so I'm back at work as per usual.
Had a grand time on the 4th this year.  DR Jed came over and we watched the fireworks down at the Tacoma waterfront.  Marvelous display.
Foodwise, not much was had by me yesterday.  Had some Thai food earlier in the afternoon, usually one of my favorite meals, but for some reason my stomach didn't agree with it, and it promplty came back up.  Perhaps it was too spicy, perhaps it was a bad reaction with some meds I'd taken earlier...who knows.  At any rate, the rest of the day I ate pretty much nothing but Wheat Thins and a bit of yogurt.  Although I gotta say, I was sorely tempted down at the waterfront...they had food stands for all sorts of deliciously sinful things...elephant ears, corn dogs. gyros, cheese sticks, cotton candy..mmmm.  But I was a good girl and resisted all.

Cartoons -  I love 'em all.  Gotta agree with Sandra, Arthur kicks bootie...on PBS kids, I'm also fond of Dragontales and Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Bugs has always been my favorite WB cartoon, hands down.  Although interestingly, my favorite cartoon short of all time is a Tom and Jerry one.  It's called, I'm pretty sure, the Cat Concerto.  Tom playing the piano and Jerry inside...I'm blanking on the name of the piece played, but it's absolutely hilarious to me.  Second place goes to any of the Bugs Opera ones.  "Kill the Wabbit" had my mother in tears from laughing the first time she heard it.  Those cartoons were such a clever way to introduce kids to classical music.  Oh yeah, and the Tom and Jerry one where they turn the kitchen into an ice skating rink...love that one too.

Fractured Flickers...hehehe.  It was on Thursday evenings at 9:30 so it was a bit late for me....and I was always disappointed when I got to watch it and it was a rerun!!!!  Also on Thursday was the David Wolper one hour series Hollywood and the Stars.  Only on for one season or so, but very interesting to someone in Indiana!

SuperChicken, Tom Slick, Dudley Do-Right....hehehehe.  Inspector Fenwick and Nell.

And on Mighty Mouse...the poor girl mouse was always getting hypnotized and singing "Ben Bolt..."  LOL.

Overture, curtain,  lights.
This is it, the night of nights.
No more rehearsing and nursing a part.
We know every part by heart.

Overture, curtain, lights.
This is it, we'll hit the heights.
And oh what heights we'll hit.
On with the show
This is it!!!

TCB - Yes, Jed left when I went to work this morning.  We actually discussed, as we were walking down to the waterfront, that we really should have called you up and gotten together for lunch, or at least invited you along to watch the fireworks with us.  It would have been a wonderful gathering of the whole cyberfamily! :)

Ann, I am sorry I missed a chance for a cyber-family reunion.  Actually, the two of you could have come up to my place and watched the fireworks from my balcony.

Jennifer it’s a good thing you are handy.  Do you make your own clothes as well?

No, I don't make my own clothes.  And I didn't actually do any sewing this time.  I just used one of those thingies that you can attach to clothes to make them smaller (sorry I don't know if they have a name).  They look like two clips with a piece of metal in between.

Sort of like this (the number signs are the clips).

DRJENNIFER I never knew there was SUCH a thing as a clothes-maker-smaller!

I'd show you a picture if I knew what it was called.

I think it's mostly for women.

It was a big fashion thing a few years ago.  Although I'm not even sure if they still sell them.

You attach them to the back of your shirt/blazer and the clips pull to make the item smaller!

Thanks for the vibes DRJENNIFER.

Bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich....then off to rehearsal.

Jennifer I have one of those nameless things too.  Mine has a heart on each side.

I just gave Echo a bath and need to brush her now and get her back outside so she can finish drying off.  She followed me back in the house to finish her breakfast.
