I was in MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM.....that sounds weird.....  It was a pretty good play.....but some of the cast members weren't so nice.....but that's okay......

It's a stretch. but for some reason, that reminds me of the title KISS MY FACE, the show which the TV Odd Couple was arrested for scalping tickets to in the famous "when you assume" episode.

Have I mentioned more than a few times that August Wilson's real name was Freddie?  (actually Frederick, but they called him Freddie)

And of course, there's "the company that gets this account is the one that shows the client the most attractive can." (paraphrasing from LOVER COME BACK)

BIG VIBES for DR Elmore's Overture debut tonight!!!

And many more vibes.

We just returned DR Elmore to his brother's home after a full day with the Southwest Ohio Philharmonic.  The rehearsal went well and he was quite pleased with his piece.  It was very well-received at the concert.

After the rehearsal we picked up Richard and Mary Linda and DR Elmore took us to Applebee's for burgers.

I'll leave the musical details to DR Elmore, but, for me, today was a wonderful diversion - just what I needed!

Just had a call from Elizabeth Sherman - Richard took a little tumble on Friday so she doesn't think they can come tonight.  What a pity, since we're premiering a Levi song.

Vibes for Richard Sherman.

I wish I were kidding about those rococo Bloody Marys, Jeanne, but they are sadly all too true.

Watching the Mike Newell version of Great Expectations. I don't think I've seen this one. Helenda Bonham Carter is Miss Havisham. Good casting.

I am home, thanks to DR Ginny and Richard.  After the orchestra read the overture down at the rehearsal, I heaved a big sigh of relief.  It wasn't a bad piece of juvenilia, as i feared, but a rather pleasant neoclassical score.  I don't think it's a great composition but I think it's a pleasant overture to a Shakespeare comedy.  The audience and players said nice things about it and I wasn't embarrassed by it.

Golly, but you sound far too much like me. I guess we are our own worst critics.

I am surprised that this is a Mike Newell film. It has nothing of the character exploration that Enchanted April had, and none of the joy of life that sends me back to that movie -- and his Into the West.

This is more like Scenes from a Novel You Had to Read in Freshman English.

Back, from standing in a three-and-a-half hour line at the funeral home.

The whole last hour of that was the almost Disney-esque "queue", wending its way through the various rooms filled with easels and easels of pictures, before reaching the large room where everyone was.

Plus, the hour drive each way...     Unreal, man.

Getting some snacks together, and a drink, and then I'm going to settle in to watch the two-hour finale of TWIN PEAKS.  Because I can.

Sorry to read about Walter Becker dying. I've been a Steely Dan fan since I was a teen.

I forget what Margo gad, but I had the two Fresh Tacos with chicken.  I had one at the restaurant with the salad, and took the other one home and just had it for dinner.  It was really good. :)
