Strictly community theatre, so I'm no pro, but love it.  After 20 years of civic theatre, I've worked on tons of shows, but my favorites have to be children's theatre and period ones:

On the Town -- cause of all the 1950s period stuff (I love working with hats and accessories)
Driving Miss Daisy
Bell, Book and Candle -- cause we did it circa 1960s
Godspell
Tons of melodramas -- western styles and old-timey costumes which are fun to do
Hansel and Gretel
The Hobbit
Stone Soup
Little Hospital of Horrors -- an original musical that we did goth/horror style
The Butterfly -- the play I just completed -- lots of insects

and my most favorite was the one we did this past fall, the musical HONK!

(and I love dressing sets for the same reasons I enjoy costuming -- I think it's important to have an eye for detail -- I believe theatre is a total package and it bugs me to see crappy sets and costumes, and non-profit civic theatre is no excuse -- take the time to do it right)  Opps, off the soapbox, Karen, she just wanted to know what plays you've costumed, not your theories on theatre.... :-X

I have seen several of the plays you have listed. However, it is a wonderful gift you can share so others can enjoy and appreciate!!

And I must onwards to work.

And not a single word about my attic collection of double knit leisure suits, garish polyester shirts, and appropriate accessories (beads, rings, bracelets, etc).

I also have boxes and boxes, and more boxes,  of T-Shirts (Shows, Destinations, Humor, and Gay Bars - world wide!)

Really? I LOVE Eastenders.

Our public telly station is about 6 years behind BBC America so we are just getting those eppies. I also greatly enjoy Eastenders.

Hmmm...doesn't ON THE TOWN take place during WWII?  Or does it?  I don't remember it making any specific war references, come to think of it.

singdaw - thank you for ordering all six books - that's quite a haul.  I hope you enjoy them.  I'd suggest reading them in the order they were written - more fun that way.

My long time friend, Frank Tangredi, wrote this play.  If any of you West Coasters can go see it I would be most appreciative!!

I'm not sure, but our director opted for circa 1950, so 1950s she and the characters got...

Thank you, DR Jane. I just got a call from him. I'll be picking him up in about an hour, and he sounded relieved to finally be released.

I'm sure his incarceration was trying.

OK , MBARNUM, here's an old story from my past that you might enjoy. Just thought of it last night:

There used to be a TV show starring Ida Lapino and Howard Duff, called MR ADAMS AND EVE. Their dressing room was a small--quite small--little structure with two rooms. Over one door was a sign, MR ADAMS, and, of course, over the other, EVE. After the show completed the dressing room was about to be broken down and trashed. My dad grabbed it, brought it home, and set it up in the back yard for me to use as a playhouse. Yes, a real star's (stars') dressing room. I was ten. And, yes, I could appreciate what it was and where it came from.

I love it! Does the playhouse still exist? And did you ever go into your "dressing room" and refuse to come out until all of your on-set demands were met?

And That T-shirt would be fitting on you like a second skin.... in the best tradition of 50s hunk & muscle movies! :)

But I would come out looking less like Richard Harrison and more like Orson Welles.
