Is no one reading and/or finishing a book of short stories??? What a revoltin' development this is.
Dear Esteemed BK --
I finished "Adventures With My Father" 2 nights ago, and then re-read it once again. On the surface, it could seem like a fairly light-hearted story; but dear BK, I know you by now just well enough to put this piece and that piece together, and it really affected me emotionally - even more so than "Your Worst Nightmare." Aside from all the snippets of your own earlier life, there were a lot of parallels to things that went on in my early life, and the end result was a very powerful read for me.
I'm kind of disturbed by a recurring theme or device that I've encountered in your writing more than once now, but that is only something to talk about in the face to face world.
I think that "How To Write A Dirty Book" goes so far beyond the expected themes and emotions of just a light-hearted "easy-read" book, that any who haven't read it yet, are in for a tremendous treat and surprise.
