Back from Austin. It was sad having one last meal with Deborah before she moves to Florida.

She wanted to go to Half Price Books one last time because there isn't one in Florida or New Jersey, which is where she is headed in a few months.

I found a couple of things, including Part 2 of the Pallisers. I don't have Part 1, but Part 2 was only $3 for more than 7 hours. Plus, I know the novels Trollope wrote very well.

Hello all.  Thanks for the good wishes for my mom. She's continuing to improve.  We had several offers on their lake home and accepted one a couple days ago.  She had been using the equity in the lake home to pay expenses, now the loans will be paid off and she'll have enough to carry her expenses for care for at least a couple years.   It's a huge relief for all of us.  It will close mid July, but we don't foresee any problems. This is very good news as it is amazingly expensive to have 24 hour in home care, but that's where she wants to be - so that's where she'll be!

We are allowed to have all businesses open here.  Restaurants are allowed to have 100% capacity.  A lot of places are still limiting it. I haven't gone out to eat in so I don't know if they are asking people to wear masks.  I've been going to stores, the jail (we talk to our clients through the glass for now as there are covid cases there) and lots of other places.  I don't generally wear a mask as I find it's not that hard to socially distance.   The numbers here are still going down, of course we had massive testing going on when other places didn't have any

The court system here is still trying to figure out what the restrictions will be when they completely open in July.  There is talk that judges will have to wear masks and face shields.  That makes no sense as no one is within 10 feet of the judges.   I had my first COVID positive client in the jail today.  I talked to him on the phone and the jailers had him sign the documents I needed.  Then they sprayed the documents with disinfectant.

DR Jane, they say the window seat is better than the aisle seat for flying in the Age of Covid.  You don't have as many people going by and breathing on you. Enjoy your trip.  Family is what matters, you take lots of precautions so I'm willing to bet you'll be fine

Dr John G - glad you got to have the dinner with your friend.  It's hard to see a friend move across the country, even more so when you don't get to say goodbye

Speaking of which, my neighbors - whose  main home is in Gig Harbor, WA - have decided to sell their house here.  I'm actually glad.  Their house has been empty most of the time and it will be nice to have next door neighbors again.  They've had it with Seattle, they are also selling their house there and moving to South Carolina

Tonight Allen is here getting it ready to sell and will be meeting with to realtor tomorrow. He said they have bats....I knew it.  Ricky has been glued to the window by their house every night. I'm hoping none of them come in here.  I don't think there have been any yet. I do have a 5 year warranty on the bat proofing, so if I get one, I'll get batman on the phone ASAP

Yesterday our governor gave the mayors permission to make a decision. Earlier he had not allowed them to have any say. The mayor of my city made it mandatory. We'll see what happens.

This is what I was asking.

DR Jeanne, very interested in your comments about the bamboo TP.  I've seen that and thought about trying it.

Now playing: the Mendelssohn violin concerto - I'm starting to like this guy.  What's funny is that although I've never heard it before the minute the main theme in the first movement came up I recognized it instantly because it's been used so much.

We don't usually carry masks with us on our walks as we can avoid people.  Only once have I felt the need to quickly put the mask over my face while passing a group of rude people.

IDR Laura I hope you won't be fined not wearing a mask if no one is near you.

My sister has sent two packages of masks. She said she's making lots of them and that she will keep making them because she expects we'll need them a long time and we will wear them out with repeated washing.

That was nice of her.
