Vibes for DR DANISE.
Travel vibes for DR JOSE, soon to be closepersonalfriend of Mario Lopez.
-
Thanks for the link, DR JOSE....It seems as though Miss LuPone brought down the house the other night.
-
Off to Staples and then to pick up my car.
Today is Genealogy Day at our house. About 15 aunts, uncles, and cousins will be by to pick up the books that my sister Paula and I have made for them along with lots of discussion.
They will come ordinary folks, but will leave cousins of the 19th Earl of Derby. (Pronounced "Darby" as in O'Gill and the Little People).
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I will soon be hailing a taxi to head to the airport so that I can hop on a plane to Chattanooga (with an interim stop in Memphis) so that I can stay in Choo-Choo. -Hmm.. Maybe I should take the subway to LGA so that I can complete the "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" trifecta. :)
-
Happy Genealogy Day To the Kith and Kin of DR JRand!
-
And "non-sticker shock" ~Vibes~ to DR JRand, himself, for his upcoming trip to pick up his car.
-
OH! And the cookies were a hit! When I got home last night, there were a few Thank You e-mail from various people as well as requests for the recipes! :)
-
Good Morning, Ben!
I've just had my oatmeal for the morning. Have you?
-
Yes, I did and the bowl is washed and stored in my desk.
-
I'm now waiting for the printout of the Rockefeller Foundation grant list.
-
Dear Danise, I hope all goes well with you. Remember, you have friends all over the country (and the world)
-
Hmm... I think I really am all set to head to the airport. I keep waiting to remember something else that I need to pack, but so far, nothing else is really coming to mind. We shall see...
-
Hi, Ben!
-
requests for the recipes!
I hope you refer them to your blog! A little self-promotion never hurts.
-
Good morning to you, gentlemen! :)

A little musical humor:
A C, an E-flat, and a G go into a bar. The bartender says: "Sorry, but we don't serve minors." So the E-flat leaves, and the C and the G have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the fifth is diminished and the G is out flat. An F comes in and tries to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough.
A D comes into the bar and heads straight for the bathroom saying, "Excuse me. I'll just be a second." Then an A comes into the bar, but the bartender is not convinced that this relative of C is not a minor. Then the bartender notices a B-flat hiding at the end of the bar and exclaims, "Get out now. You're the seventh minor I've found in this bar tonight."
The E-flat comes back to the bar in a 3-piece suit with nicely shined shoes. The bartender says, "You're looking sharp tonight, come on in! This could be a major development." This proves to be the case, as the E-flat takes off the suit and stands there au natural.
Eventually, the C sobers up, and realizes in horror that he's under a rest. The C is brought to trial, is found guilty of contributing to the diminution of a minor, and is sentenced to 10 years of DS without Coda at an upscale correctional facility. On appeal, however, the C is found innocent of any wrongdoing, even accidental, and that all accusations to the contrary are bassless.
The bartender decides that since he's only had tenor so patrons, with the soprano out in the bathroom, and everything becoming alto much treble, he needs a rest, and closes the bar.
-
Good Morning to you both on this rainy but warm (56 degrees) March day.

Very cute, Slingblade. I got the biggest laugh out of the bartender telling them that he didn't serve anyone under 21. Funny Stuff!

This morning, I'm being drafted for a work team to complete Project Cranberry. :o
I kid you not! That's what our client is calling it.
Sounds super mysterious, no? Maybe they'll teach me the secret handshake!
I think it's hilarious...
-
Ah, Mary. In front of what used to be Dayton's Department Store

Good Morning, once again!
Well, my oatmeal bowl is clean, my body is clean, my iPod is updated, and I believe I'm all set to head to the airport.
In the meantime...

DR singdaw - Done and Done. (re: referencing them to my blog). ;)
-
OH! And one bit of "American Idol" stuff...
The 80's theme nights always make me laugh. Heck, even the judges acknowledge - in other shows - that the 80's were not exactly filled with "quality" pop music, so why put that built-in stumbling block in front of the contestants.
I also got a kick out of the comments regarding Danny Noriega's rendition of "Tainted Love". First of all, Soft Cell's 1981 original was already a cover of Gloria Jones' 1964 original version... Then Danny Noriega ends up covering the Pussy Cat Dolls' cover version - down to the trashy, suggestive "choreography" - but some of the judges comments made it seem like they had never heard that version. -And what was the song last week that Simon said he had never heard before?!?!? OY!
-
Well, my flight is schedule to leave in three hours, and I feel like getting to the airport a bit earlier than usual today. So...
Thanks for all the Travel Vibes. I'm not sure I'll have enough time to check in during my layover in Memphis, but I'll definitely be posting from the Choo Choo in Chattanooga.
Laters....

Is the unfinished film of Mr. Welles' the one where they kept him drunk in South America for awhile (until the money ran out) to keep him out of the way?
One of Mr. Hermann's best scores was for "The Obsession"--- a score and filmas close to one of Hitchcock's as one could get (not an easy task).
I'm old enough to play General Mills, but it would be like casting Don Knotts (unfortunately).

thanks to DRJOSE for the vibes....it wasn't too bad, even though they found about $800 more work they wanted to do....I decided to delay that.
DR SINGDAW, that's pretty funny. And of course you know how to tell that there is a soprano at the door?
She can't find her key and doesn't know when to come in.

Johnny Depp was in Mooresville last weekend to do research with the family of John Dillinger....Depp will play the role in an upcoming movie to be directed by Michael Mann.
Also appearing in the film will be Christian Bale and Marian Cotillard (who doesn't believe a jet airliner crashing into a skyscraper should cause it to collapse). Funny how winning an Oscar makes one an expert on EVERYTHING.
-
The Johnny Depp picture isn't online yet, but he made the front page of the weekly paper.....maybe it will be up later today. I shall link at that time.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! I'm back at work today, not feeling (as my mother-in-law would say) like the breath of spring. Yesterday our family doctor put me on an antibiotic, potent cough medicine, and a decongestant that carries a warning that it may cause dizziness. I took that after my drive to work, thinking that I'd rather be dizzy at my desk than in my car. So far, so good.

Please be nice to ARTF***ERS, singdaw. :) :) It's written by Michael Domitrovich and directed by Eduardo Machado, two wonderful artists with whom Skip got to work on SUMMER SHORTS last summer.

That's where I'll be 3 weeks from today! Actually, I fly to Mpls on March 25 and will be there through the 29th attending the Public Library Association National Conference.
I think the new library is up and running now. The last time I was in Minneapolis (2005) it was still being constructed. I have fond memories of the old library at the beginning end of the Nicollet Mall. It was there that I discovered one could check out Original Cast Recordings of Broadway shows (and other records as well) which turned me into a Show Queen (and I use the term lovingly) and a Folk Music fiend.
-
But that IS some picture.
-
The photo from ARTF***ERS, that is.
-
Yes, DR Ben, I'm going to a Cooperating Collection meeting at the new Minneapolis/Hennepin County Central Library on the 28th. Did you know that the city and county systems had recently merged?
-
No, I didn't. When I'm in Minneapolis (this August) I will check it out. There is a great branch in South Minneapolis
Walker Branch (http://www.mpls.lib.mn.us/walker.asp)
built a few years ago now, that is mostly underground. It's built that way to save energy.
-
Even though it looks like i am online (well i am now), i've been watching hi-5 and wilbur videos online with my niece.
There was a snow/ice storm so all the schools and daycares got canceled (my sis only found out at 7:45am).
My niece is now pulling me off. So I must go.
-
Feel better vibes to the AT WORK DR GINNY.
-
Sounds like Jennifer is going to have a fun day!
-
I'm old enough to play General Mills, but it would be like casting Don Knotts (unfortunately).
There are several DRs here who I'm sure could do the role proud including DR JRand and, as I believe bk suggested some days ago, Charles E. Pogue.
-
Good morning!
After more than an inch of heavy rain last night, we're back to glorious blue sky and mild temperatures, perfect for early March. It won't be as warm as it's been the last few days, but we should get into the low 60s today.
-
One other observation about IDOL last night:
Jason Castro (the dreadlock kid) took a breath in the middle of his ending phrase with his song, very noticeable and made that last bit really off (I think that's what he was snickering about waiting for the judges' opinions on his screw-up). Not ONE of the "experts" bothered to mention it and instead heaped glowing praise on his rendition.
-
DR FJL - my "picture caption" jokes are not intended in any way to be commentaries on the source material. I'm just stealing their publicity shots for cheap laughs.
The only reason I've referenced the source productions is because some DRs were complaining that they couldn't identify the photos.
Perhaps I'll just stop doing them so as not to upset anyone.
-
TV Reminders Tonight:
PROJECT RUNWAY finale tonight!
New LAW & ORDER tonight!
(BTW, NBC is running CRIMINAL INTENT at 8 tonight rather than 9 to see what effect that will have on its ratings. Opposite the IDOL women, it's going to KILL its ratings.)
New RENO 911! tonight!
-
I forgot all about the season 2 premiere of DIRT (which now comes on Sunday nights). Fortunately, FX repeated the season premiere last night and hopefully the DVR picked it up. That's what I'll watch while eating lunch today.
-
Yesterday, I got the review copy of THE KITE RUNNER in the mail. Even though I have two more Criterions to do which come out on the 18th, I think I'll do THE KITE RUNNER today (it doesn't come out until the 25th).
Of course, if the Blu-ray of ENCHANTED happens to arrive today, all bets are off!
-
I did not like Jason Castro on last night's IDOL. I have sort of liked him in the past.
Btw, i thought simon was particularly vicious last night. His remarks seemed more harsh than usual.
-
On tv for me tonight unfortunately not the finale of PROJECT RUNWAY (we have 6 left now).
But i do have IDOL, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL and BIG BROTHER. And i think MEN IN TREES is on at 10pm again.
-
In next week's TV GUIDE, there are some LOST articles featuring Naveen Andrews and Elizabeth Mitchell. Of more immediate interest, however, is a page of cast questions to the executive producers/head writers about many of the LOST mysteries.
spoiler
One of them asked if Aaron is considered one of the Oceanic 6, and the answer was that this fact had yet to be determined (in other words: maybe yes/maybe no).
They also revealed that by the end of this season, the 6 who are getting off the island will be off and there will be explanations about what happens to those survivors who don't get off.
-
I did not like Jason Castro on last night's IDOL. I have sort of liked him in the past.
Btw, i thought simon was particularly vicious last night. His remarks seemed more harsh than usual.
He seemed more concerned in putting down Paula. Granted, she was looped and incoherent, but it's not his place to shut her up. Let Ryan do his job of moving the show along.
-
One more little joke from the LOST questions and answers. This isn't a spoiler so there will be no space.
Josh Holloway (Sawyer) asked: Why can't Sawyer get a frickin' haircut?
And Carlton Cuse answered: sorry, but that happened in one of the episodes we had to discard due to the strike. (Actually, they didn't discard any episodes; they merely combined the action of 8 episodes into 5 episodes with no filler or time holding events to stretch things out.)
-
Interesting for BIG BROTHER fans:
New BB ad: 'Two more houseguests will be evicted but what they don't know is Big Brother may not let them leave'
Per Julie: Wednesday 'the evicted couple will get a surprise that no one will see coming, and a new chapter will begin for this season of Big Brother'

I wonder what that first blurb means?

On my desk when I returned to work today: 3 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. Bet I owe someone some money.

Still sick. And now really mad about the $$/%*( television--if Funai doesn't spring for labor, it's $200!
-
He seemed more concerned in putting down Paula. Granted, she was looped and incoherent, but it's not his place to shut her up. Let Ryan do his job of moving the show along.
I appreciate anything/everything Simon says to Paula when she's out of her mind. The producers don't do anything. She's a huge national JOKE and Fox is seriously remiss in not replacing her drugged-out ass. I don't care what the circumstances are behind her drug-taking...no one should ever be on TV in that state.
I welcome a voice of reason. :D
-
And that IS Johnny Dillinger in the photo behind them.
Jeff is a friend of mine....I knew his grandmother.....knew her all my life before I knew she was John Dillinger's half sister. When someone told me, I couldn't believe it!

The Oracle of Delphi has spoken.

"Biggest Loser" SPOILER
SLSLEJDKJFJ L;KJlkj;lakjfpaoieru;sfDDljr;lkajrtoij vaASDF dsijas;lkfj;lkjf;lkajd;lfkjadf;lkasjf; lashgoishg;alsjf;lkjf Last night's "Biggest Loser" was a very satisfying episode for me. With the Blue team down to three and the Black team at four, it looked like "crunch time" when the unexpected happened...the teams were disbanded prior to the weigh-in and each person was weighed-in as an individual, with the bottom two up for eviction. Suddenly, it was time to vote out someone from the Black team. That left them with only two votes (the nominated members cannot vote), while all three Blue teamers had a vote. Kelly and Bernie were the bottom two. As much as I've disliked Kelly's "I need to be here" disclaimer (they ALL need to be there) and her constant "boo-hooing, woe-is-me" demeanor when she is on the block, the biggest blow to the Black team mentality (those teams NEVER really break up, after all) would be the loss of Bernie, their sole surviving male contestant. Thus, the Blues voted out Bernie, eliminating one of the competition's highest weight-losers. It is now three "big" men with lots of weight left to lose against three women who have lost a great deal of weight but probably cannot match the men's poundage/body weight loss potential. It should be interesting.XXX DDDD singdaw is coleslaw is monkey'spaw!

DR MBARNUM did you watch ATLAS yet.....it's some movie.

I appreciate anything/everything Simon says to Paula when she's out of her mind. The producers don't do anything. It does NO good. She resents his interruptions and snide attitude. So you're left with a even more embarrassing and untenable situation.
I think if Ryan were allowed to interject something, she might listen or stop. Might, I said. Let him give it a try anyway.
-
Sorry about continuing problems, DR JMK. Hopefully, things will work out soon in both the health of your person and (more importantly) the TV. ;)

Happy Genealogy Day to DR JRand and family! I keep expecting my sister to hold a similar event - she's been doing the research for years and years.
-
DR JMK - I'm sorry to hear about your health and technology trials. Vibes for both!

The tv works visually--it's only the left speaker that's buggy. We plugged our stereo into it so we have yet one more remote to deal with, LOL.
I have been making my way through the Burton/Taylor boxed set, never having seen any of these movies before. Have done The Comedians and Sandpiper so far (immediately went to the Mad Cd-ROM to relive "Sinpiper" after finally having watched the film), and am now on The VIPs. Saving Ginny Woolf for last. :)
-
I think Funai is going to spring for the labor (not including the $100 "diagnostic" visit yesterday which amounted to the guy saying "Yep, the left speaker's broke [sic]"). But they didn't guarantee it, so vibes that they'll follow through. :)

Yes, they pay a stipend - more, in fact, than NYMF paid to the actors. The artwork on their site is temporary - they're going back to the original.
-
Good morning, good day, how are you this beautiful day? I am up.

The only thing I did not accomplish today was the trip to the pharmacy. In my rush to get Patrick's charts into the Fed Ex and stop at the post office, I forgot.
So, tomorrow morning I'll go before I hit the NYPL Theatre Collection.
I have an hour free before I head off for the movie.

I've always found the VIPs a glamorous and glorious soap opera. Not a great fil, mind you, but a very good time. I'm delighted to have such a nice DVD copy of the film now on hand.

I began my afternoon viewing with the second season premiere of DIRT. Still just as guilty a pleasure as always. Sorry that the writers' strike stopped the season at seven episodes and FX decided that would be enough.
-
I had started rewatching the season finale of BROTHERS & SISTERS last night, and I finished that this afternoon too. Justin going off to Iraq was just as tear-inducing this time as the other half dozen times I've watched it.
-
Next I watched THE KITE RUNNER. I didn't see this in theaters or read the book, but it's a very involving story. A bit too pat in certain parts, I thought, but still very watchable and worth seeing.
There are three bonus supplemental features plus an audio commentary that I'll tackle when I go back down.
-
Page Six Scarecrow, Dorothy, and Tin Man Dance!!!
-
I scanned through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No Luke or Noah, but the previews for tomorrow featured the same Luke preview from last Friday's "coming next week" promo. Looks like Luke is (again) defending Irina's honor.
-
I forgot all about the season 2 premiere of DIRT (which now comes on Sunday nights). Fortunately, FX repeated the season premiere last night and hopefully the DVR picked it up. That's what I'll watch while eating lunch today.
AARRGGHH!! I didn't even realize that it had started. >:( Rehearsals, you know. :P
-
I think Funai is going to spring for the labor (not including the $100 "diagnostic" visit yesterday which amounted to the guy saying "Yep, the left speaker's broke [sic]"). But they didn't guarantee it, so vibes that they'll follow through. :)

Right now, I'm listening to a new studio recording from England called Theseus (http://www.dresscircle.co.uk/product.asp?StockID=33297), the story of Theseus (duh!) and the Minotaur. It's not bad, but not as good (in my humble opinion...IMHO, in Internet lingo) as The Challenge (http://www.amazon.com/Challenge-1993-Original-London-Cast/dp/B000003QTS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1204757961&sr=1-9), which I love!

Of course it went away on its own after four weeks. But it also turned you into a cartoon!

DR FJL - my "picture caption" jokes are not intended in any way to be commentaries on the source material. I'm just stealing their publicity shots for cheap laughs.
The only reason I've referenced the source productions is because some DRs were complaining that they couldn't identify the photos.

Good Evening!
Greetings from Chattanooga!
Well... My day began on a very happy note: I hailed a cab in front of my apartment at 8:50am this morning. When I sat down past the security screening area at LGA to put my shoes on, it was 9:27am. WOW!
And right now, I'm currently in a nice mini-suite on the club floor of the Sheraton Read House, and the Floor Concierge happened to catch my eye as I was coming out of the elevator signaling that she was still keeping the free evening appetizer buffet "open" for a few. So... :)
In between this morning and right now, I've had to deal with two flight delays, one possible cancelled flight, no BBQ at the Memphis airport, a missing team of pilots, two hotels that didn't have me on their computers (I'm not at the Choo Choo after all). -Of course, I had left my bags at the Choo Choo before I walked over to the Convention Center to find out what was wrong, so... In any case...
I just snacked on some Little Smokies and Mozzarella Sticks - which my Floor Concierge happily plated and wrapped up for me - and I think I'm just gonna sit in my king-size bed, catch up on my e-ails and posts, and watch "American Idol". And possibly order room service. We shall see.
-
"Little Smokies and Mozzarella Sticks" -- that should be a song in some musical.

Nope, we're watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

I loved Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day!!!!!!
The movie in look and feel reminded me a great deal of Mrs Henderson Presents but it's funny, a bit bawdy, very romantic and quite moving. The cast is excellent:
I hadn't seen Frances McDormand since FARGO and she's the heart of soul of the film
Amy Adams is wonderful and charming, and she gets to sing again in a kind of Monroe "I'm Through With Love"moment!
I liked Mark Strong as Mr Knightley in the BBC-Kate Beckinsale adaptation of EMMA, which I prefer to Paltrow's, and he plays the older sexy gangster type with real flare, but all of the men - Lee Pace, Ciaran Hinds, and Tom Payne - hve wonderful moments.
DR JRand57, the actress playing Katherine in the SHAKESPEARE RETOLD "Taming of the Shrew" has a wonderful role as a 1939 fashionista.
I cannot recommend this movie enough!
-
What happened to your steak dinner?
I believe I'm going to save that for tomorrow or Saturday - when I'm not so travel-weary from the day, and can truly enjoy my meal. And wine. :)

Will Janowitz played the last boyfriend of Meadow on THE SOPRANOS. I always thought he was going to get rubbed out. Instead he got written off.

Listening to John Addison's delightfully delightful score to Swashbuckler, a new Intrada issue of the 70s LP. It sounds a high-endy to me, but it's still nice to have it.

I ended up trading all the Oscar promos that didn't have takers - and I now have credit with a soundtrack dealer that will probably last a year.

I really am going to have to bitch-slap a few people, like edisaurus and others who have been errant and truant way too long. Send the warnings.

Trying to figure out what film I shall watch this evening. Several interesting choices. Or I could watch a film I TIVOd. Or I could just listen to music all night. Or I could watch a very SHORT film and THEN listen to music for the rest of the evening.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it here, but Airborne has reached a settlement agreement in a class action suit. It does not protect you and doesn't prevent colds. You can fill out a claim at this website http://www.airbornehealthsettlement.com/ and get money back if you have purchased Airborne. If you don't have proof of purchase you are limited to the price of 6 boxes and they set the max you can claim. If you bought Airborne it's worth the couple minutes it takes to fill out the form

Good Evening, once again!
I'm back from the little reception they had for the Auditions Staff. They had plenty of libations: sodas, mixers, beers, liquor. But the only food they had were small bowls of Goldfish crackers, Chex Mix, m&m's and some sort of "health mix" that had lots of dried fruit in it. So... On the way back from the reception, I stopped into the 24-hour diner across the street and made a selection from the rotating cake case: some sort of Reese's Layer Cake. I ate about half of it, and will probably ditch the rest. It was good, but not great, not as rich as I was hoping it would be. However, I think the lack of richness was a good thing since it was consumed so close to bedtime. ;)

DR DearReaderLaura - That's one great pic!

I spent half of my evening looking for size medium white boxer shorts. They were much more difficult to find than I thought I had to go to 5 stores!!!
This all started because I have a client who had on colored boxer shorts when they arrested him. Well, you have to have white at the jail so they made him give them his underwear. His wife lives about 200 miles from here. She got here about 4 days later and bought him boxers. The jail said "You'll have to come back tomorrow, we don't accept underwear on Mondays" (I'm not making this up). Well she had to get someone to give her a ride so coming back was not in the cards.
So today I got so disgusted, I called the jail and said "Look, I'm just going to buy him some underwear and bring them over" The jailer said "It will be have to be tomorrow, we only accept underwear on Tuesdays and Thursdays" So I said "Fine" and went out to find size 34 white boxer shorts. 5 stores later, I have a sealed 3 pack and will deliver them tomorrow.
My client was amazed at how disgusted I was about this and was reassuring me he was fine. Anyway, I found the underwear and tomorrow he shall no longer be commando under his handsome orange jump suit
-
You have watched the same episode six times???
Most definitely and loved it every time.
-
So as I went from store to store tonight you could hear me saying that magic word....UNDERWEAR!!!
-
Michael S, how have you been feeling?
Healthy heart vibes!
Unfortunat;ly not 100% My regular doctor won't see me until I get the reports from the hospital.
-
I began my evening by watching the bonus features on THE KITE RUNNERS DVD. One involved the original novel and its adaptation for the screen. The other, longer, was a "making of" featurette.
The director of this also directed FINDING NEVERLAND, and I'd say I enjoyed both films equally.
-
I also listened to the commentary track on THE KITE RUNNER. There were three folks speaking: the director's voice was placed in the center channel, the original novelist was in the right front speaker and the screenwriter was in the left front speaker making it very easy to tell who was speaking at any given moment. Most of the comments were repetitions from the two featurettes, and the writers wouldn't have talked much at all if the director didn't keep pitching questions at them.
-
Next, I watched the second film in the LUBITSCH MUSICALS box: MONTE CARLO. Others have already commented, and I agree completely: Jack Buchanan didn't have much screen charisma and had no chemistry with Jeannette MacDonald at all. Just goes to show that someone who had a vast female audience as a stage performer just didn't translate well to the screen. (Or I guess he might have been more popular on the screen in England; I'm not really sure.)
-
I zipped through AMERICAN IDOL in a little less than thirty minutes. I think I really should remove myself from watching and commenting any more about this year's competition. The judges are raving about these performers, and I'm sitting there with my jaw hitting the floor at their awfulness.
The 80s is such a poor decade for the pop music they're looking for that I guess that's one reason nothing much appealed to me tonight (or last night). But, I didn't enjoy myself. I have NO CLUE who'll go home.
-
While waiting for a new LAW & ORDER to come on, I watched an old LAW & ORDER on TNT. How nice to see Jerry Orbach again. He's much missed on the show.
-
The new LAW & ORDER was an interesting case with a pretty smashing surprise ending that I definitely did not see coming.
-
Have some writing to finish up and then I'll head down to bed.
Good night!
-
Well, the free breakfast starts at 6:30, so.... ;)
Goodnight.
-
Finished watching a motion picture on DVD. Am thinking if I want to eat a little something. I made myself a steak earlier - that's all I've eaten.
-
We were up very late watching the election results last night, so i should try to get to sleep soon, but I'm not tired.
-
I am going to take a hot bath and do a little reading before bed. So good night.
-
Let's all have PIZZA!
-
Let's all have cheesy potatoes!
-
The only thing I have in the house to eat is a pound of See's dark chocolate nuts and chews. And funnily, I'm not in the mood to eat that right now. I'm in the mood to eat PIZZA and CHEESY POTATOES.
-
A friend just sent me a copy of an eVite he got that has to do with a performance of someone who is part of a little jernt we don't like to talk around these here parts, i.e. the daughter. And where do you think this performance is taking place (to celebrate her hubby's birthday)? Why, only a little place I've been writing about steadily for seven years right here at haineshisway.com - in fact, I'd say it's an official haineshisway.com meeting place - Genghis Cohen. Coincidence? Well, you know me, bright ideas are always popping into my head, and since we know there are merry searchers and lurkers here all the time, well, I don't think it's a coincidence, and I'm glad we can continue to be of some service to these people.
-
Skip made a yummy blueberry clofuti (sp?) tonight.
I had the clofuti (sp?) with Haagen-Dazs vanilla honeybee ice cream, which is, as the saying goes, like piling Damon upon Pythias.
-
Perhaps I'll take a quick ride in the motor car and get something to snack on, like a whole pizza. I don't think cheesy potatoes are an option, unfortunately. I could get a baked potato, I suppose, but that doesn't sound yummilicious. Or, I could just get a bagel and be done with it. Or some cucumber roll. Well, I'll report back with food in hand.
-
I guess it's spelled "clafouti"
Which sort of sounds like shipoopi
-
Today, I FINALLY got an e-mail from the credit union handling my mortgage refinance, saying, "Congratulations! The closing documents to finalize your home refinance have been sent to your escrow company." Hoo and Ray!! I called "my" escrow contact and left a message to talk about a specific closing date but didn't hear back. Hopefully, I'll get a call tomorrow and this will all be done very soonly. :D
