I don't think he'd do it, frankly.

Hey Bruce-

If You Could Get Stephen Sondheim to autograph several copies of EVENING PRIMROSE for an additional price wouldn't that be S'Wonderful?

I don't think he'd do it, frankly.

What if the extra money went to a charity of Sondheim's choice?  Would he do it for that?? :D

I just don't think he'd want to take the time.  And given his schedule these days, I really don't want to bug him, especially as he was so nice during this whole process.

I've still got another 130 orders to print out.  I will say that this stack of orders, shockingly, is four times the size of what Kritzerland has sold in the last six months.

Just imagine if Kritzerland could get the rights to release the DVD!!

Most disappointing SS show.

Saw the 4th preview of Merrily We Roll Along and it was a mess. I remember the paper swimming the pool that got a lot of laughs.

I don't think I'd ever have a question about this.  The score is unforgettable.

Eh, I saw Follies and I remember absolutely nothing about it. So bang goes that theory. (I've heard the OCR as well. Sorry, but I've never been able to understand all the accolades. I do acknowledge that I am in the minority on this; I'm also apparently the only person who didn't love "Little Miss Sunshine.")

One CD that I have, and shamefully haven't listened to yet, is "Bounce." How do people like that score?

Are there any fans of "Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend" here?

Wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles!  My mother's email has been glitchy since before Christmas.  Around the end of January, I got it to where she could receive, but not send.  Just now, here at work, I've gotten several messages from her - she called her provider all by herself and after they asked her to repeat her birthdate (she was born in 1918!), she said they were ver-r-r-ry patient with her.

This morning the lawyers looked at their jury and decided to settle the case. Good thing; I'm not sure I could have stood six days of testimony about concrete.

;D  I'm sure I would have fallen asleep.

TOD:

Picking just a few favorite Sondheim songs?  A Sophie's Choice moment!    :P

Depending on where I've been and what mood I was in, I think most all of SJS's songs have been personal favorites at one time or another.

I know that my introduction to Sondheim's work was discovering and wearing out my parent's LP of Company when I was about 12, and I've never looked back!  First stage show live was the original NY cast of Sweeney Todd.

I am thrilled for this opportunity for bk and Kritzerland.

His leg was sore, but ok. He was riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road and went right out into traffic.

...And then there are those stories of Bernstein and Sondheim - at least I think it was them - taking walks, and doing crosswords in their heads!?!?!?!?

OH....... those stories of Berstein and Sondheim

First Sondheim:  it is family legend that when I could barely walk, and had never before shown an interest in the piano, I heard "Small World" on the radio (was that Vic Damone?), toddled over to the piano and plunked out the first few notes with nary a pause.  It was that that convinced my Mom perhaps there was something unusual going on in my chubby little head and that's one reason I started piano lessons so early.

Of course, you were 23 at the time.

There are really too, too many to mention, but here are just a few of my favorite Sondheim songs:

The Ballad of Booth
Chrysanthemum Tea
Move On
Opening Doors
Our Time
So Many People
Someone in a Tree
What More Do I Need?
You're Gonna Love Tomorrow/Love Will See Us Through

We have had somewhat of a problem with pedestrians getting hit.  Not long ago a student at the university was hit and died.  The driver never saw her & she wasn't watching-just talking away on her cell phone.  I've seen plenty of students talk & turn their heads to watch for traffic.  For the most part, no matter what they are doing, the students think because they are in the crosswalk they are safe.

The police department set up a sting.  Many drivers got tickets, but not nearly as many students did.  Orange flags have been placed by the crosswalks for the students to use, of course they rarely do.
