With Anya due and the "secret" out soon, we're really getting down to just a handful of OCRs that I'd love to see on CD:

Cry for Us All
Donnybrook!
Good Old Bad Old Days (OLC)
Gone With the Wind (OLC)--yes, I'm a masochist
Jimmy
Joy
Man With a Load of Mischief (I have the rerecording, still love the original)
Pickwick (OLC)
A Time for Singing

So, Bruce, you have your marching orders.  ;)

What about Schmidt & Jones' Philemon?

I have the record, but I packed up my record player and moved before I ever took the time to listen to it.

I am excited about the new OBC release that MR BK was talking about.....one half of it has been one of my favorites for over 40 years.

I played the A side over and over again....but when I flipped it to the B side, I could find nothing to love......but the A side...................ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ......

I have just learned some interesting facts about the human body.

BK, I just read the notes for the North-Rosenthal CD; your notes are really wonderful. The only thing I didn't learn was how large a band North used to record the original incidental music!

I see that there actually is an OP CD of Rosenthal's wonderful music for the film HOTEL PARADISO that I need to track down. I hope you'll try for the KING OF HEARTS recording rights.

I'd like to see Al Carmines' wonderful IN CIRCLES on CD: "Mrs DeMauncey has adopted a child!" What a great number.

It's on at 10:00pm here in NYC. A nice "anti-dote" to "Heroes". ;)

elmore, I believe King Of Hearts has been released on CD - I think it's on either an FSM cd or a Varese Club CD - I'll try to figure out which.  The North, to my ears, sounds like two reeds, a trumpet, and a cello.  Let me know what you think once you hear it.

So....

I'm watching tonight's finale of "The Bachelor" - mainly because I was truly in the mood for something bad and cringe-inducing.. ;)  In any case... I would like to know when, at what age, the current "Bachelor" will allow his young son to see the tapes/videos/DVDs/?? of the series.

Yes, I was right - it's a Varese club CD and, happily, still available!  It's Viva Maria, also by Delerue, coupled with King Of Hearts.  Here's the link:

I got my Kritzerland CD today! I'll play it first thing in the morning.

I'm trying to get a shopping list together for the market. I need dish washing detergent but IO hate to go out in the cold for only that. Hmmm . . .

Use shampoo.  Your dishes will not only be clean, they'll be soft and managable.

And you will also add a certain hint of je ne sais quoi to your meals at the same time!

I guess they did get a lot of snow down in Richmond last night and early this morning. Not only were the school systems closed today, but they've already announced closings for tomorrow. Additionally, there have been power outages in various neighborhoods.  -However, I can't seem to find any reports about icing causing the downed power lines.  ???

*Just checked TimesDispatch.com, and the "unofficial"(?) snowfall total was 10"-11".  Of course, when I called my parents this morning, my Dad didn't think they got that much snow.  ???

:D  My mother and I both made the mistake of watching the first show and have ended up watching, because...well we started watching it.  It is pretty cringe inducing, but I think I know who he will pick

I don't know that I have ever seen a Charlton Heston film.  Or a Clint Eastwood film.  Or that I could even tell the difference.     :-\

Seriously?  You haven't seen "The Greatest Show on Earth"? "The Ten Commandments"? "Ben-Hur"? "El Cid"? "55 Days at Peking"? "Planet of the Apes"?

FYI, those are Charlton Heston films.

You've not seen "Paint Your Wagon" (Eastwood was in that).  "Play Misty for Me"?

Fortunately, no.  Right now, it's upstairs in my bedroom, just sitting on my floor.  I need to clean my TV/computer room and I'm very much a procrastinator...always have been...and probably always will be. ::)
