Good Afternoon!

And it really was a good afternoon (of auditions).  And we had a very wonderful finish to the day too.  -Details to come later.

Almost an hour since the last post.  What, haven't the cows came home?  The home fires are almost out.  Speaking of which, it's really dark here in the View of Mountain, I think it may rain again.

DR Matthew - When I finally got all of my CDs out of storage two weeks ago - and up on the shelves - I was amazed at how many I had not yet listened to - out or still in the shrinkwrap.  -And the DVDs... WOW!  -I can honestly say, most of the DVDs I've bought have been for "archival" purposes as it were.  I saw the movie in the theatre, I liked it, I bought the DVD when it came out... And that's been that.  Most of my DVDs are still in shrinkwrap too.  -And I know those pesky adhesive security strips are going to be a major pain to remove.

And then there are the books I've bought...

And the scores...

Etc., etc., etc.

*I'm seriously thinking of having a sidewalk sale of sorts come spring, and just set up a table outside my apartment and have a yard sale of sorts.  And unlike some of the vendors on the streets in NYC, all my merchandise will be "legal" - and in shrinkwrap too!

Well...

I have an hour before callbacks start tonight, and those should only go on for about two hours tonight, so not too bad.  And then since it's the final night of UPTAs, I'm sure I'll be hanging out at the hotel bar with everyone else for a while tonight.

*And I just called Northwest Airlines to inquire about flying standby tomorrow morning - something I've never done.  I'm glad I called!  If I had changed the reservation online, then it would have cost me $60.  But if I just register for the stand-by list in the morning online(!), then I don't have to pay any extra.  -And the reservation assistant said there was plenty of room on the earlier flight, so I should be able to get on it with no problem.  HOO and RAY!

It sounds to me as though they are ordering lunches for you that will come in a brown bag -- a sandwich, chips, apple. That kind of thing.

This was close...except rather than brown bags it was white styrofoam containers

Well, I believe I'm going to walk around for a bit - which I need to do after sitting down for the past eight hours playing auditions.  So...

Laters...

RE: GREASE YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT.

Do any of you get the feeling that Juliana will NOT be Sandy?  I don't think the judges like her.  I mean they don't dislike her.  But it's clear that most of them have their favorites.  And not once have any of them chosen her as their favorites.
I have never gotten the impression she will be Sandy

Also for DR SANDRA:
I, too, like saddle shoes. Several years ago I bought a pair of tan suede saddle shoes at Nordstrom. The salesman, a man I've purchased shoes from many times and know to be one of those very upbeat, could-sell-sand-in-a-desert sorts, referred to them as "homely." Homely! They are most comfortable and I like them very much.

Homely?! Well, tuchus butt castle!

Another vote for The Sandra Plate Eating Show

Can you say "YouTube?"

I didn't get to eat my plate today because Kayla wouldn't eat her carrots. They were cooked so I don't really blame her.

They also had fishsticks for lunch. I was tempted to teach them the song my brother wrote yesterday, but I didn't think the teacher would understand.

We got our new kid today at preschool. His name is Quan and he mostly only speaks Vietnamese. But he does know some important words in English. Namely "frog" and "dinosaur."

Written my three pages, and am ready to either start a new chapter or add a coda to the one I'm in or just give these pages to my muse Margaret.

DOG SHOW SPOILERS!!!!

I just read that Bill Cosby's Dandie Dinmont terrier named Harry has won the best of his breed...but that's because Harry was the only Dandie Dinmount terrier entered this year. :) The article also says:

"He's also the No. 1 show dog in America, winning 57 events last year. And that makes him a top favorite at the No. 1 dog show in the country."

Oh, my, this is so funny (and accurate):

March of the Librarians

And DH Richard and I will be part of the next biennial migration, in late June, to Washington, DC!

I still have my magnetic paper clip holder I got at the ALA in New Orleans.  I spent about half of one day at the ALA & the rest of the time exploring the city.

The DP and I are seriously looking to move east (Pennsylvania) in the next 8 months or so.

What area?  Keith and I spent 5 1/2 years in Bucks County.  It is a beautiful state, at least what we saw of it.  One of the graduate programs Craig is applying to is at Carnegie-Mellon.

I wish Keith enjoyed watching the dog shows with me.  He only looks at a few of the working dogs and always the Bernese Mountain Dog.

Got several little packages today so maybe the mail problem has been fixed.

I'll say. I mailed that SATURDAY!

Are the toys amusing?

THERE'S JUST NO PLEASING SOME PEOPLE!

Given the context, I found amusing:

The Kink.com plan is the latest chapter in the long and somewhat tortured history

a subsequent idea to use the armory’s enclosed drill yard — :o

I think the Kink could still used the drill yard.

I think he should be in the Terrier category.   The TV show is the groups, you have to win best of breed to get into the tv show, so it really isn't a spoiler. Just a contestant tonight.
