I think you're the first person I know of who remembers Gale Storm.

Hey....Grandpa here!

I spent my high school years watching My Little Margie when I was supposed to be translating Virgil.

I sadly remember the rather lurid news reports of her dive into the bottle in the 70's.

PS It was one of those TV shows my Father always managed to be around when I watched.

Good Evening!

Back from callbacks... Back from the bar - just one Bud Light...  And now I need to pack up my luggage - which will be easy - so I just have to wake up, shower, and get on the shuttle bus to the airport in the morning.

Otherwise...

Sick with a nasty tonsil infection and a raging headache.

I did not want to end up on bk's bitch-slapping list

Feel better vibes for bk....

Continued vibes to Elmore and his family...

~~~Tonsil and Headache Vibes for DR DakotaCelt!!~~~
I had my tonsils removed when I was 26 years old.  What happened was I got strep throat and was given antibiotics for 10 days.  Right after I stopped taking the antibiotics, it came back.  They gave me another round of meds for 2 weeks, but two days after those were finished, it came back, again.  Then, they gave me a third round for a full month!  That finally took care of it.  Because I got strep throat three times within six months, they said that the tonsilectomy would be covered by my health insurance.
Before I had gotten them out, people would tell me horror stories of "friends of friends" who'd gotten tonsils out as adults.  Mine were taken out on a Tuesday at about 11:30am.  I was awake by 1:00pm and home by 3:00.  I had almost no trouble with the surgery.  The only real problem was on that Friday, I went to a restaurant and ordered nachos. :o
I DO NOT recommend eating nachos that soon after having one's tonsils removed. ::)
They didn't have nachos when I had my tonsils removed.  In fact, I can't remember the first time I actually heard the word nachos or where I first noticed they were on a menu.
I guess we never will get to page twelve, since the new notes are ready and going up in three minutes.
Well, since George is just sitting there like so much fish, I'd have to make fourteen posts in two minutes.
According to THIS wikipedia article:
Nachos in their simplest form are usually tortilla chips covered in melted cheese. First created in 1943 by Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya, Anaya's original nachos consisted of fried tortilla chips covered with melted cheese and jalapeņo peppers.
Another traditional variation consists of a quartered tostada topped with a layer of refried beans and/or various meats and a layer of shredded cheese.
Common additional toppings include:
Ground beef or chicken
Jalapeņo pepper slices
Other spicey or mild peppers
Onions
Salsa
Guacamole
Refried beans
Sour cream
I'm quite tired, but my tummy is still annoying me so I'm not quite ready for bed.  One minute to notes.
I don't like Jalapeņo pepper slices or guacamole on my nachos.
