I've been getting inquiries about recording the Appalachian show, and the answer is a qualified yes. I believe that when we retrn from Hilton Head, there will be a recording made of some of the numbers for use as a promo CD to attract investors. We're still regarding this South Carolina production as a tryout to see how the show plays before an audience, what they like, dislike, etc. Before we can do anything major with it, we have to deal with clearances from publishers for some of the songs, and we may have to rethink things in the piece So many things are serendipitously falling into place that it's a little scary.

DJ, who's been developing the book with me, came up with a wonderful, subtle job for our returning Prodigal Son/Joseph character that makes a great reference to Joseph's biblical employment as a carpenter, and there's a wonderful musical moment from the ensemble when the miracle occurs inside the "Cherry Tree Carol" that moves me to tears.

YEAH!!!! I will buy a recording for sure.

Love the poster Elmore.  I really truly wish I could see the show.  Unfortunately it's not going to happen.  I need to win the lottery.

Time for me to head out, too.  I'm meeting my friend Margo at Red Robin for dinner.  After that, I'll go home and install my new cable modem!

Until later!

My modem works!  I hope that this will be the end of my Internet connectivity problems.

Just discovered that they posted a couple of our songs from the All America Band concert on Youtube.  The video is terrible but the audio is ok; It was a western themed concert so we're all dressed up like cowboys.

Larry, that sounds lovely...and I'd certainly buy one, as well!

And then the director wants to call the cast in for a "piano run" on Friday afternoon. We had the option of requesting call the orchestra, but there's really no need to do so at that point. We've played through the show at least four times on our own. Plus, it will help save the theatre a couple(!) of bucks.

Alas, with that added run on Friday afternoon - which was originally listed as a "Possible/TBA" slot, that means that will be running the show twice each day: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Whew!

But, all in all, we're all having a great time. It's an amazingly fun and funny cast, and they've truly made what could have been a very "painful" tech - like all techs usually are - very bearable and laugh-filled.

DR vixmom - If you boss has confirmed that he has left his keys at DCA, I could go and pick them up for him if he's able to arrange some sort of "clearance" for me. I pass DCA on the way into the theatre.
