AHS is okay.....

I watched the first episode of ONCE UPON A TIME last week - and it was most excellent.  DR ELMORE thanks for recommending it so highly.

I just wasn't sure how the format was going to work.....but it is very entertaining.  Unfortunately I cannot understand much of what that young kid is saying....about every other sentence....maybe it's time for captions.

Today when my sister Molly visited, she found a Monarch butterfly (I think it is a Monarch) on the sidewalk out front.

It could not fly.  She picked it up, and it decided it wanted to rest on her ear for quite sometime.

Your monarch is a female, JRand. And she's beautiful. Please thank Molly for helping her.

Thank you to one and all for your good wishes over the past 24 hours.  Hell, over the past 5 months.  It is a wonderful feeling to have a family that you can share not ooly the good things in our lives, but the valleys, as well.

Just read Robert Harris review of My Fair Lady. He worked on its original restoration, but he is disappointed with the Blu Ray release, This is another disappointed of a major film classic and Academy Award Winner for Best Picture. First there was West Side Story and now My Fair Lady. These were two films I was looking forward to getting, but now I will forgo  getting them.

I'm also disappointed that the re-relase of West Side Story to theaters next week will be reformatted. I will like to know what that means.

DR Michael S - I know that you trust the "authorities" and their opinions, but couldn't you rent the Blu-Ray discs of "West Side Story" and "My Fair Lady" to see for yourself just how bad and "disappointing" they are to you? And then decide if you'd like to buy - or not buy - a copy for yourself? Yes, the Blu-Ray transfers may not be "ideal", but there's probably something about them that may make them a worthwhile investment.

It may seem that I bitch about thinga, but I do look into other ways of seeing it before hand.
I would love to rent them first. But I have found that it's difficult to do that where I live.
There are no video rental places around me anymore. Blockbuster and Redbox rental kiosks don't have them. If you have any other suggestions how I can rent a blu ray first please let me know.

Nice story on "The People in the Picture"":

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/156171-Cast-Album-of-Broadways-People-in-the-Picture-Starring-Donna-Murphy-Due-in-December

My close and personal friend, Sharry, saw the show when she was back there.  She wasn't crazy about the first act, loved the second act, and thought the entire score was good.  She had a very nicechat with Chip Zien after the show.

Netflix is sure to have both of those titles on Blu-ray.

Or maybe a reviewer could send DR Michael S his/her review copy for a few days? Or offer him the disc at a highly discounted price? ;)

I am finally realized that I am living in a cultural wasteland.  First the filmed opera series passed over the Tacoma theaters, then the Broadway musicals, and now WEST SIDE STORY has skipped Tacoma, as well.  WSS is being in 12 theaters in Washington (3 or 4 in Seattle), but not one in Tacoma.

I must return to the stage soon!

My barin level has dropped from the low end at 6.5 to a new low of 4.5.  Unfortunately,  I still have some pain spikes (8.5 to 9), nad the injection did nothing for my abilty to walk.
