White gloves are a must, DR JEANNE.

Where is everybody sitting?

On October 4, 2006, DH Richard and I sat in C 17 & 18 to see Cynthia Nixon in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

I believe the NYMF shows are open seating, with early entry to the theatre for members.

Richard and I just returned from another 4+ hours of work at Harriet's apartment.  Now that we've had 2 days there by ourselves, we've agreed that it's time for other family members to assist him.  I have to go back to work tomorrow and Saturday.

Speaking of Hooters, I just found out that the one that was closest to me was bought out by a pizza franchise which now has a daily pizza buffet. We didn't go there today because I needed to get back home, but we are planning a trip there next week.

While waiting for the delivery I was expecting, I did manage to watch two episode of BONES. The first was the best episode of the second season, an episode where Brennan and Hodgins get buried alive in their car and must figure out ways to get more air and to be able to send a message alerting their friends where they are. The murderer is never apprehended in the episode, and I can't remember now if he coems back again in another episode this season or if he will make another appearance in the coming season. I'll see as I continue to watch the shows in the box.

The second episode involved the murder and decapitation of a young filmmaker doing a "witch in the woods" movie similar to THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. Compelling story and a sad end for Brennan this week.

Still biding my time, I put in another episode of BROTHERS & SISTERS to rewatch. This was the episode concerning the preparations for Nora's birthday and everything that went wrong. Marion Ross was the funny and poignant guest star.

And then I began reading another chapter of THE DEATHLY HALLOWS and got about 2/3 of the way through it when the doorbell rang and my delivery finally arrived.

A new television set.

I know, some of you are shaking your head in mortification, but the time had come to upgrade to the highest possible resolution (1080p, more than a million pixels more than the 720p high def set I was using before) and a larger screen - 56" rather than 52".

I have only begun calibrating it, and I'm sure this will go on into the night tonight. First impressions were very positive, and it was a great relief when it actually worked when turned on. Sometimes, they don't, but if they do, they're usually good for the life of the set.

The other intriguing aspect to this new TV over my older one is that this new one does not use a bulb/lamp. The light engine is three LEDs that flash onto a chip to make the picture. It's still DLP technology, but the next generation removed from the lamp and spinning color wheel used in other DLP rear projection models. The LEDs are said to have a 10-12 year shelf life, and I'm sure another technology will have come along before then that will capture my fancy.

When I get everything worked out and am happy with the picture, I'll take some pictures.

Sheesh!  I've been away from work for most of the past 2 weeks and have been peeking in at, but not responding to, my work email.  There have been 2 (count 'em, 2) cat fights, one between a coworker and our new assistant manager and one between a professional organization and a nonprofit agency.  What pettiness.

Off to continue with calibrating the TV and adjusting other equipment so it will display to its best advantage on the set.

I was pleased to read that PS Classics will be recording the UK premier production of Malby & Shire's Take Flight.  While I'm not the greatest fan of their score for Big, I love their Baby and all the songs from their various review shows.

I hadn't heard about this.  I agree with you on M&S.  I like Big but I love most of their other stuff.

DR George - I hope your sister is good to you!  You seem to figure in a lot of the items on her "honey-do" list.

Yes, she is very good to me. :)
