I am about 30 minutes (and four commercial break blocks) into 20/20, and it's a pretty good show so far.  The kids are interesting and the administrators are not cliches.....

<nod>

In fact, I would have to say the the Theatre and Drama Departments of most of the high schools in Northern Virginia - especially Fairfax County - are far from being "clichéd" in any way, shape or form. In fact, some of the high schools put on some pretty incredible productions.  And since some of the schools have good band and orchestra programs, they usually have full pit orchestras too.

-Which has always made me wonder about the cuts in Arts programs there since those programs seems to be very popular and competitive.  If there's a definite interest from the students - and their parents - why would schools cut back on the programs?  Yes, they may not bring in the big bucks like football does - even though I'm not sure just how a high school football program brings in the "big bucks" - but I'm sure they break even.

Was that a rant? My apologies if that was a rant.

*After a quite enjoyable audition session, I ended up sitting next to a "triangle" of Columbia University students who didn't realize - and/or did not care - just how loud they were "talking", and what they were talking about.

Don't do anything rash on our account.

At the very least, just make sure that you're using the tube of Pepsodent instead of the tube of Desitin.

It was 9 degrees where I was last week. In the middle of the night. Ok. I was not outside in it. But I was outside in 12 degrees.

I am truly annoyed and upset that the vocal music director would get up in rehearsal and SING the songs the way she wants them sung....demoralizing the kids who are obviously struggling.

DR LAURA.....thanks for reminding me.....that certainly could be the cause.

Thanks, DR derBRUCER.

Hey - it's "Blame Josè - remember?

der Brucer

Just a reminder:

It's not "Josè".
It's not "José".

It's just "Jose".  No accent aigu, no accent grave.

Rant away, DR JOSE!

Thank you, DR JRand.  Just feeling "antsy" tonight - again.  I think it's the remnants of the full moon from this past weekend, since, otherwise, I had a pretty good day.

For those DRs who have been looking for a way to save their favorite YouTube videos and audios to their computer...

-When you find a video on YouTube that you like and want to save to your computer, just "navigate" backup to the URL/address line in your browser.

-Add/insert the word "kick" before "youtube".

-Hit return.

-A new screen with a menu and options will appear.

*I saw this tip somewhere on the web today.  If you go to http://www.kickyoutube.com you will see a "How To" video.

When I see Ray Bolger the one thing I never think of is romantic.

However, when I think of his great nephew, John Bolger....

My favorite LITTLE WOMEN is the Hepburn version. The June Allyson version comes next followed by the Ryder version. All three give you the same basic story, and all three have aspects to recommend. If you love the book (as I did), I wouldn't want to miss any of the interpretations.

The Little Orange Kitten is now officially a foster kitten.

That looks like a typing class exercise sentence.

Funny episode of BIG BANG THEORY.

Is the Jonathon Groff listed as a producer the same Jonathon Groff from SPRING AWAKENING?  Don't see how it's possible.....spelling must be different.....

I had read that tonight's episode was hysterical, so I did get the DVR to record it, and I'll watch it tomorrow while I eat lunch.

I began my evening of viewing with the bonus features on THE DUCHESS DVD. There were only three: a making-of documentary that went about 22 minutes, a brief look at the Duchess' actual letters with the book's author and the film's producer, and the costume designer talking about Knightley's elaborate wardrobe for the film.
