One of the loveliest moments in the film is the tinkling note that ends "Goodnight My Someone" when the coin is dropped in the cup.....it's perfection defies the mickey mousing it could have been.

Mr. Hoffman has certainly irritated me in the past (his performances) but he's done some very good work.  I think one of the reasons he's so good in Tootsie, is because his Michael Dorsey, an actor no one will hire or work with because he's so "actorly" and difficult, is very much who he is.

I love the notes on the back of the MM soundtrack wherein Mr Willson writes about the Jews Harp (paraphrasing):

The player will then attempt some noise at the end of which he will announce he has just performed "The Blue Bells of Scotland."  Never in the history of the world have the efforts of so many resulted in the entertainment of so few.

I still use that last line during my notes on disastrous rehearsal nights.

Gosh, I kinda doubt it.  I'd imagine several folks posted more than 100 times on some of the record days of HHW.com.

When "It Might Be You," the love song from TOOTSIE would play on the radio years ago, one of the disc jockeys in NYC would after each "It's you" "It's you" sing "Gensundheit."

Little-known TOOTSIE memories.

DR Cillaliz:  Every time I've ever met someone from Iowa I've always told them I've never been there but that I've heard so much about it that there are several places I'd like to visit.

Inevitably, the person will ask, "Where"?

And I reply:

"Oh...Dubuqe, Des Moines, Davenport, Mashalltown, Mason City, Keokuk, Ames, Clear Lake...yes, I'd like to give Iowa a try."

More often than not, I'll get a smile and a chuckle.  But there is the occasional glassy-eyed stare.

LOL...DR MBARNUM....if literal, my money would be on Allison.

DR ELMORE, perhaps with a good director, she could have been better, but then, can you imagine someone else you would rather see set on fire at the end of an evening?

I love Hermione's underscoring!

That's Ray Heindorf's underscoring.

Hermione is merely the beneificiary.

Love the watch the mouths of the CAST during that song in the movie, DR RLP.  Not everyone knows the lyrics!!!  And couple of them are always late during "Trouble."
