And since I've been in the habit of recapping lately...

When I left the apartment earlier, I walked over a few blocks to Broadway where I was going to board the 1 Train.  However, due to work on the tracks today, they were running shuttle busses between 137th and 96th.  So... Even though I had already swiped my Metro Card, I went ahead and headed back out of the subway station, and walked down to 137th.  Once I was there, I boarded on the shuttle busses down to 116th, and then walked a few more blocks to 112th, where I met DR TPunk for brunch at a place called The Heights.  We had a great mini-reunion of sorts - I don't think we had seen each other since the summer.  *DR Rodzinksi was not in attendance since he was continuing his football playoff weekend.  Good food, sparkling conversation, and even some good "dish".  :)

After brunch, TPunk headed back uptown, and I proceeded to walk downtown.  And walk... and walk... And walk...  I eventually made my way down to 56th Street where I met another friend for a coaching session.

*Of course, in the "meanwhile", I had made stops at the
Silver Moon Bakery - chocolate-almond croissant and an alfajor...
Georgia's Bake Shop - raspberry brioche and a chocolate chip walnut cookie (still warm!), and...
Crumbs - I just window-shopped here, and checked out the winter hours at the Columbus Ave. location.  Really, I did.

*And I still have a couple of the baked goods in my bag - they'll be for dessert tonight.

*But I did walk down from 116th to 56th, so... ;)

I believe the final actress to play Annie in Annie was Alyson Kirk.  -Alas, according to the IBDB, her next Broadway role would be a couple of years later in the short(!)-lived revival of Take Me Along.

I'm making a lovely batch of tuna pasta salad - that's what my taste buds told me to make.

Argh!! I keep losing this post!

Okay, first of all, I want to thank one and all and also all and one for the wonderful feel better vibes I recieved.  You really are a special group of people.  I am feel much better after two days of resting and using the pain killers, and I should be okay to work tomorrow.  There is still a fair amount of tenderness in my abdomen, but that's to be expected.

Now, on to our exciting news!  As of this afternoon, we received word that the seller has verbally accepted the offer we made on the house in Tacoma!  This means that unless she changes her mind before faxing the paperwork in tomorrow, we have a house!  I'm so excited, it's really a beautiful place for Jed and I to be.  I can see us being there for many years.  Here are a few shots so you can get the idea of the place.

First, our kitchen.  The cupboards hanging over the island have been taken out for more space.

Lovely kitchen.  Speaking of the kitchen, my tuna pasta salad is chilling now, and I should be able to have helping one in about thirty minutes.

I don't dislike Shirley Jones, I just didin't think she was so great in Carousel and Oklahoma. It is Robert Preston who I used to not like as much...but I saw him recently on WHAT'S MY LINE or some such old game show and he was so funny and charming that I changed my mind about him.

Please tell us that you haven't seen "Victor, Victoria" so that we know your assessment of Preston doesn't include one of the greatest supporting performances in musical history!

Is anyone doing the Blockbuster version of Netflix?  I'm thinking it would be a lot more convenient for me because you can take them in and exchange them or mail them in, but I'm concerned they don't have the selection that Netflix does

There's something I'm surprised no one has yet asked today...

Exactly how much does one Grecian urn?

About 20 drachs an hour, I think.

Hmm... If there's gonna be this much editing and built-in, built-up drama... I don't think I'm gonna make it to the final rounds.  :-\
