Bruce the other night we saw a preview for INSIDE JOB & Keith said to put it on our NetFlix queue.  I told him I had already done so. :)

I'm on jury duty. I wasn't sure if I'd have Internet access here at the Hall of Justice, but I brought my lap top, just in case.  It's definitely one of the smartest decisions I've ever made. Jury duty is just breezing by, and the wireless system here doesn't screen out "entertainment" web sites, such as haineshisway.com, like my place of employment does. We just broke for lunch where I found they don't have a public microwave oven. So, I guess bringing a frozen entree from home wasn't the smartest decision I've ever made. So, I was forced to buy my lunch, but guess what they have here?! Tuna pasta salad! I got some in Bruce's honor and ate it all up - while I daydreamed I was eating sharkmeat.

I just ran into the neighbor above me and had a short but good chat; all is revealed: he's a bartender.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Jaws" yet - a wonderful classic.
I didn't think "Waterworld" was nearly as bad as everyone said it was. It's definitely a case of managing expectations. I kept hearing it was so terrible I had no choice but be pleasantly surprised when I finally saw it on cable TV.

Amy, that is the real reason you didn't think it was that bad.  You didn't pay to see it!

Here is a nice article from the NY Times about former child star and youngest Tony Winner

Daisy Eagan

Sounds like she could use the polish of a BK for her show.

I had the same thought.
Eight songs in 90 minutes?  It sounds more like a book report than a cabaret show!

T.O.D.

THE KING'S PIRATE - I think that is the one with Doug McClure

TITANIC - Clifton Webb, Robert Wagner, and Babs Stanwyck

20,000 LEAKS UNDER THE SEA

VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA

I don't know why, but I have always hated the musical, THE PIRATE.  I love Judy Garland and I love Gene Kelly; but the movie is just stupid to me.

This morning I went for a walk, and this is what I saw:

Black-throated sparrow with nesting material:

Yellow-rumped warbler:

Hermit thrush:

I'm gonna say Orange-crowned warbler on this one:

American snout butterfly:

Costa's hummingbird:

TOD - OK, I'll admit it.  I like TITANIC (the de Caprio/Winslet version) and George Clooney's THE PERFECT STORM.

Me too.  I'll even admit I saw Titanic 10+ times in the theater.  I can't remember how many times I went, but I loved it every time.

And...

Chef Gabrielle Hamilton not only signed the menu for my friend, David, but she even asked to rub my hair/head! -And I let her!

;D

Why?  Does good luck come to whoever rubs a fairy's head?

Richard has been outside supervising the AAA guys who were taking the flat tire off my car and putting the spare on.  Shortly, we'll take it to our tire place so they can do what they have to do while we're in the Dayton 'burbs for my appointment.

Bye for now!
what happened to your tire?

DR Vixmom - my tire developed a slow leak due to a dent in the rim.  I was prepared to add 2 new tires to the 2 I'd gotten last fall, but they were able to repair it.

DR Ginny I hope your appointment went well.

Thank you, DR Jane.  Dr. Jain said all my tests are conclusively good and I don't have to go back to see him for a year!

No MILDRED PIERCE here, either, because we don't have HBO.  I'll have to wait for the DVD...
