I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Jaws" yet - a wonderful classic.
I didn't think "Waterworld" was nearly as bad as everyone said it was. It's definitely a case of managing expectations. I kept hearing it was so terrible I had no choice but be pleasantly surprised when I finally saw it on cable TV.

there are pirates in Jaws?

This morning I went for a walk, and this is what I saw:

Black-throated sparrow with nesting material:

Yellow-rumped warbler:

Hermit thrush:

I'm gonna say Orange-crowned warbler on this one:

American snout butterfly:

Costa's hummingbird:

Laura you are amazing!!!!!!!

DR Vixmom - my tire developed a slow leak due to a dent in the rim.  I was prepared to add 2 new tires to the 2 I'd gotten last fall, but they were able to repair it.

better that then a blowout - I am relieved!

TOD - OK, I'll admit it.  I like TITANIC (the de Caprio/Winslet version) and George Clooney's THE PERFECT STORM.

Me too.  I'll even admit I saw Titanic 10+ times in the theater.  I can't remember how many times I went, but I loved it every time.

My niece saw it 21 times in the theater...AND paid for me to see it four times so that I would drive her.

DR Ginny I hope your appointment went well.

Thank you, DR Jane.  Dr. Jain said all my tests are conclusively good and I don't have to go back to see him for a year!

HURRAH!!!!!!!

Thanks, DR Vixmom - we should go out together to celebrate our good reports!

Those were all very fast birds. We were lucky we got any photos today. I have lots of photos of backs, blurs, and empty branches.

I just ran into the neighbor above me and had a short but good chat; all is revealed: he's a bartender.

In a gay bar?

Dream on, Alice. I have no idea where he tends bar or his sexual orientation, but he has a lot of female company.

You said it!  I thought it looked a little low on Thursday when Mom and I were out and about.  Kept my eye on it over the weekend and, fortunately, didn't have to drive myself.  We left my car on the street to make it easier for the service guys to get to the tire, just in case.  This morning we were very glad we'd made that decision.

Unfortunately, I don't see NYC in our plans for this year now that we've decided to go to Europe in the fall.  Oh, and there's this little wedding for which there will be a bit of expense...

Thanks Elmore.  A weight lifted when I heard they cut the check. When it didn't arrive on Saturday I started to worry again.  Now I've got it.  Whew!
